Door lock actuators are dropping like flies - 2009

Hey all,
I have an 09 TSX w/ tech package. I've been to the dealership 3 times to have the door lock actuators replaced over the past few weeks. First the drivers, then each rear passenger. And they still are making groaning noises and working intermittently. Is there an underlying problem I'm missing here, anyone else having issues? I'm getting sick of spending time in the Acura customer lounge

I would push to have them all changed out while you're still under warranty. I however am unfortunate and brought my car in 3 months after my warranty expired

When the actuators/solenoids died, did you have trouble unlocking your car with your remote?

My passenger side rear actuator doesn't want to lock or unlock. Intermittently, I am unable to unlock the car with the remote. I also noticed that if the door remains unlocked, I do not get the 'beep' when you press the lock button on the remote more than once.

Is there a DIY for this? My front passenger has been making a weird sound when locking/unlocking about 25% of the time.

In any Honda / Acura product I have owned for more than four or five years, the door lock actuators groaned, complained or made noise. However I never had to replace any of them. My 9.5 yo Tl-S has groaning door lock actuators today. The only one I have had replaced was on the driver's side rear door of our 07 MDX when it flat out died (stopped working completely), with no notice or groaning, but was also under warranty.

2G TSX door actuator solution is different from 1G
Acura is trying to sell you a new actuator assembly for $200+ which includes the actuator/door lock assembly and door latch cables. 2snail did a great write up on how to replace driver side door actuator and save yourself $150+ in parts cost by using an 8G accord door actuator assembly (around $50). I followed his instructions and did this on the passenger side of 2011 TSX. 8G accord part is the same is 2G TSX, except it does not come with door latch cables, so you just reuse the original cables.
Here is the link:

Many thanks to 2snail for a great DIY instructions!
