When i start the motor after a couple hours of sitting i.e. cold start.....when i shift into drive or reverse (doesnt happen in neutral or park) it sounds like a knife in a blender, when you gas it is like the blender gets faster than at about 3 thousand it stops......any idea as to what it is?

 

Did you check the transmission fluid level?

 

sounds serious...I'd visit a dealer.

Could be something simple like a lost socket in the engine bay.

 

Ya i do....I actually brought it in last week....to change the VTEC actuator...thinking that was the whole problem...it brought the noise level down (same noise) but it was still there....

 

He drove my car and clearly heard the noise......and said nothing

 

I have the same issue with my TSX 09.

Did you get any more information why that's happening ?

What I do now is let the engine warm up a little and then shift from park to reverse slowly. there is hardly any noise then.
