Check DRL System - iJDMtoy

With the purchase of my leased 2010 TSX coming closer and closer I have begun the modification process of my car. I decided to start easy with the LED DRL kit from iJDMtoy. I figured it was a simply plug and play and after doing my research, I was confident I could get it done in 30 minutes. That was not the case...

I hooked up the stock harness to the decoder set to the resistors and bulbs just like the diagram they provide shows but the lights don't come on at all. Instead, I get the Check DRL System error in my dash. When I changed back to the stock bulbs, they wouldn't work and I got the error again.

--All of my other lights work, high beam does not. There is a sort of high pitch straining sound when I start my car that I did not notice before attempting this change. It also feels like the car takes more juice to start now? aka lights flicker longer before turning on.--

Any tips on what I could do to determine where the problem is coming from?

Do a reset by disconnect ing neg terminal and stepping on brake for a few seconds.

Once you get the code its a bit difficult to clear.
I can't remember but the dash puter may have had something to do with it.

So tell me about this kit exactly his did you hook it up.

I bought the resistors from JLC but should all be same.

Make sure you have your radio code before disconnecting!

Is there anything else I need to be cautious of while trying the reset? I will try that tomorrow afternoon. Could it help make my lights work or just get rid of the error?

I'm using the following kit:

Thanks for your responses, keep em coming!

I basically have the same decoders but higher wattage bulbs and have had no issues...note -with those bulbs your high beams will be pretty much useless. I ordered some 50watt led but haven't rcvd yet.

Alright, update!

I did not know but there were other fuses that are related to the DRLs. The right and left side high beam fuses. I checked these two and found that they were blown so I replaced these 10 amp fuses with a 10 and a 7.5 (I only had 1 spare of each) and now my stock DRL work!

I also talked to a JDM tech rep and was advised to change the polarity of the wires connecting the special harness to the stock one and the stock harness to resistor and bulbs, etc. I will try this out after I buy some more fuses in case I blow more. (I currently had black to red because this is how the clips were designed to snap snugly. I will try doing red to red and black to black.)
