burning plastic smell when using auto temp function
its around 45-55 degrees in nyc right now and i have my auto set to 72.
lately, as soon as i turn it on, i smell burning plastic.
when i turn it off, the smell goes away... but then it's cold lol.
should i be worried about this smell? i checked under the hood... nothing. i have no idea where it's coming from or if it's safe.
it just started maybe a week or two ago.
if it matters:

I don't know if it will help but the first thing I would check is the cabin air filter, inside the glove compartment. There was a thread on here on how to access it, but if you can't find the thread it's super easy. Just open the glove compartment, pull out the "L" for the manual, and the press 2 tabs and pull. Maybe something got caught in the filter, or not, but that would be the first place I'd look.
