brake paddle release sound

I own a 2011 tsx, since the temperature started dropping, when I drive in the morning, I can hear some weird sound after I release the brake paddle (the sound is not from the paddle. It sounds like grinding, or some place lack of oil, I can't really describe the sound, but I've heard similar sound from other cars, e.g., Accord, Prius, Mercedes r), however, it only occurs in the first few stops, once the engine temperature raise up, the sound is disappeared, I'm not sure if this is normal in the winter, or I should have a check at local dealer?

Anybody else encountered similar issue?

I don't think it has anything to do with the transmission if it's the same noise I'm experiencing. When I release the brake pedal slowly it makes somewhat of a grinding noise as if the pads or something is really dry and needs to be lubricated. I can't really explain it either, but i'll try to grab a sound clip tomorrow.

What you all are describing is perfectly normal. The best way to describe it is brake rotor resonance and it is temperature and brake pad material related. To make it go away for good, either change to a type of brake pads like a softer ceramic compound and/or new quality rotors like Brembo or DBA.
