Battery drain

I am posting this question here and in Electronics.

I had to buy a new battery today for my 2012 TSX wagon with tech package. While the battery was getting installed, I found out there is something is draining my battery. I've checked for the obvious with no luck. I called the Acura dealer and will be bringing the car in next week for them to figure out what it is. The service person I spoke to said she had seen some cars where the Bluetooth drains the battery and if that's so the only fix is for the Bluetooth to be disconnected.

Has anyone has experience with a battery drain? If so, what was causing it?

TIA

Lot's of things can cause battery drain. The primary culprit may be doubleposting the identical question in multiple sections in Acurazine.

Loose grounds, shorts, poorly executed mods, age, rodents, corrosion can all cause battery drain. My money is on a mod.

I have heard of the bluetooth thing, the issue was a defective unit which causes parasitic drain... fix is to get the unit swapped with a new one.

The 3G TL is notorious for the HandsFreeLink draining battery. Likely same for your TSX unfortunately. Replace it with a new unit.

Only if they don't want to fix it under warranty. If it is the HFL then the proper repair is to replace the module.

Removing it is the lazy person's way of fixing it.

I have same problem of the bluetooth modul, the issue was a defective unit which causes parasitic drain... fix is to cut 12v all time alimentation and put an wire with 12v witch power the Bluetooth modul after starting the car. It is safe and easy to make.
