Back Up Camera Goint Out

Tis is the second time this has happened to me, but my camera has gone out twice now. I shift into reverse and the mirror tilts down but no rearview camera. Both times that it has happened I put it in reverse several times with no camera. Later on or the next day everything is back to normal. Sounds like one of those problems that you can't reproduce and you can never get it to the dealer to show him the problem.

I've never had this problem on my TSX. I would take note on the situtations and specifics on when and how it occured then report it to the dealer. Maybe its just a loose connection or a wire somewhere. Good luck.

^ that is what I was thinking. Does the camera plug into the Navi unit in your trunk? Is so, check to make sure that connector is plugged in tightly.

I checked the connector in the trunk and it seemed to be fine. The first time it happened the car had been parked in the garage all night and I backed out of the garage, no camera....ran a couple of errands and everytime I came back to the car no camera.

The second time it happened, the car had set out all day in 90 degree heat. I left work went to the grocery store came out, no camera. Probably a broken wire or loose connection somewhere.

Does the camera not come on if you haven't hit 'ok' at the disclaimer screen?

I always hit OK on my screen. I'm just hoping that it stops all together that way for sure it will be an easy fix for Acura.

What actually displays? Does the nav screen stay on a display, or go blank, or go white, or...?

OM (pp. 352-353) says you can adjust the brightness with the interface dial (while in Reverse), maybe that'd do something.

If I'm in audio or nav mod it just stays on nothing changes. Like I said it has only happened twice. It has only happened when the car is first started and then put into reverse.

well, everybody having the issue should report it to their dealers.
then maybe you'll get a TSB about it.

MIne's been in for service but they couldn't find anything. I think it will be one of those things that they need to see it when it happens.
