Automatic door lock issue

My dog destroyed both of my rear door panels so i went to eBay and found replacements for them both. I replaced them yesterday and was so proud of myself until I drove the car and realized there was a problem. When I come to a stop and then start moving again my doors try to auto lock (even when they are already locked). This happens every time I slow down and start moving again. What did I do wrong?! Any ideas?

You replaced just the panels, right? You swapped over the window controls from your car to the new panels?

Did you go back in and check all of the connections?

Sounds like you need to get rid of your dog to me..

also make sure the harness for the master lock is plugged in tight.

check your wiring or disable the autolock feature.

The door panels that I purchased had the door handles already connected so I used the new ones. I still have the old door handles too if you think I should install those. I went back in last night and checked the one that I thought might be the problem. There are two wires that connect the door handle/lock to the panel and it pops in in two places on the panel. It was kinda difficult to get the top wire to snap back into place on the passenger side door. The end looks like a thin screw. At first I had the screw sticking out a little on the end so I went back in and fixed it where the screw does not stick out of the plastic casing, but it did not make any difference in correcting the issue.

This morning I tried to go in and turn off the automatic locks through the computer system and it told me that it did not recognize the key, so I tried my other key and got the same message. This issue is driving me insane on my hour commute with lots of traffic, because every time I slow down and start moving again the doors try to lock (which is like 50 times on my way to work!)

Well, the obvious next step in the troubleshooting is to put the old panel or at least the old locks/handles back in to see if the problem persists or goes away.

It sure sounds like a bad connection.

Are the new panels from the same year and trim level? I don't think there's much difference in trim but the year might have some wonky mismatch. You can look up the part numbers for yours and the donor car's pieces and if they match then that shouldn't be the issue. If they're different, swap back in your parts.

2004 lock issue.

I have a 2004 TL. I’ve had the car since 08. Recently the door locks started locking at a slow rolling speed, and unlocking the drivers door (the others remained locked) when I put it in park. I hate this. Is there any way to disable? I’m not even sure why it started. The car always stayed unlocked while driving, and remained unlocked until I locked it
