Auto dimming mirror vs tint

I don't think mine is working. I can turn it on or off and it makes no difference in the glare. One of the first things I did was get it tinted and hadn't driven at night prior to the install so I have no idea how much "dimming" occurs.

Anyone else out there with tint notice any difference or could it be blocking enough light that the auto dim doesn't kick in.

get a flash light and shine it on the mirror.

I have tints and it works fine, the mirror turns a shade of blue when dimming comes into affect.

It doesn't happen instantly, it takes about as much time as the "transition" lenses, maybe a little quicker. For comparison, use your side view mirror when someone is behind you.
