2009 TSX- driver door can't open from outside!
Anyone had the driver door stuck and not opening from outside. I've had that problem at lease one time a day especially, when I press the unlock button twice for all of the doors. So ,when it happens I have to open the driver door from inside.
The last 4 days I'm trying to not press the unlock button on the remote twice for the rest of the doors and haven't had the problem. But I don't know how that is going to work in the future.
I heard from a friend that his BMW gets the same problem sometimes, but probably 2 times a year.
Anyone had that problem before?

Someone here had complained about that earlier, then it went away. Very rarely if I don't pull the handle with authority, it may like, get hung up slightly, but I have to try to make it do that.
I have experienced the driver's side door not opening once (I had to open it by crawling over the console from the passenger's side). The second instance it finally opened after about 3 tries. I'm taking my car back to the dealer once again!
Never experienced that, but recommend you try to give a two second pause between hitting the buttons. If problem persist, take it back to the dealer cause it's definitely a warranty repair item.
I have been experiencing this issue for several months.
Today, I had a very hard time opening the drivers side door. I pulled very hard but it would not open. I thought my doors were still locked but tried the read passenger side and it opened. After 3 tries I was finally able to open it. Very strange. Has anyone had a dealer fix this issue yet ?

yeah like heavy duty said.. if i dont' pull the handle all the way out it won't open.. some times it feels like its' pulled all the way out but it still has another inch of play.. its liek the first 3 inches are flimsy and useless.. I never had it actually not open when i yanked on it though. That blows for you guys lol I hope i don't get this issue now though..
Last time I read about this dudes roof molding coming off, and i was all " o that never happens to me bla bla do this do that" and then that morning at work i walked out to my car and sure enough my roof molding was all bunched up

Strangely enough, this exact same thing happened to me yesterday when I left work. I'll have to make an appointment.
I'm taking my car to the dealer for the issue for the second time tomorrow. It seems like it's gotten progressively worse with the summer and heat. I know that's a strange correlation, but it's the only thing I can think of. The last time they refused to give me a courtesy car because they are "reserved for serious issues," and I had to get to work, so I was unable to have it looked at by an actual tech.
I have an appointment on Tuesday June 30 and see what they come up with. If anyone else has any resolution from their dealers please share and I will do the same.

So.. Just like I said Sure enough.. I walked out to my car today uncovered it, unlocked it and went to hop in... denied.. Drivers door handle is useless.. wont' open all other 3 doors including the trunk will open.. drivers door? No luck.. Damn me for readin these effin post.. everytime I do my car has the same problem the next time I walk out to it.. Once I opened the door from hopping in through the passenger door the problem was gone... Next time it happens I'm not opening it and i'm going to the dealership.
Add me to the list of "just happened" In parking lot and push the unlock fob, pull handle, but door does not open. Tried key in lock on drivers side (ie manual open), still nothing.
Got in car from passenger side and looked like lock for drivers side was unlocked, so just opened drivers door from inside.
Did lots of stops yesterday and it just happened once (in morning). So will monitor and see if it occurs again. Nice to know I'm not alone with this new "issue"

Happened to me a couple weeks ago but not since. I just used the key in the door to roll down the window and pulled the inside handle and it opened, so the issue with mine was isolated to the outside handle. All other doors worked fine.
I started the thread 5/14 and since then I had the problem twice may be. I started hitting the unlock button just once for unlocking the driver's door only and then wait 2 sec. until I hit it again for the rest of the doors. I even forgot about this issue. Recently I have not had it. But I thing that the rest of the door handles are much more softer then the driver's one. By the way I live in Florida and it could be something with the heat!
I took my car back to the dealership last week and had the service supervisor take a look at it. He gave me the whole "Acura won't pay for the parts if I can't duplicate the problem" routine, but I didn't let up on the issue. Finally, he conceded that there was an issue. His "educated guess" is that it has something with the outside latch and he ordered the parts. I'm taking the car back next week to drop it off once the parts come in.
Well, the issue seems to be resolved - and it only took two days in the shop! They replaced the door latch assembly (not sure if I'm calling that the right thing) as well as two other parts that have to do with the door latch. At any rate, I'm just glad it seems to be fixed.

Took my 09 TSX in last week and they also ordered a 'new whole unit' including drivers front outer handler and drivers latch assembly (backorder until July 14th). Hopefully this will fix mine as well..
Here are the parts that they ordered:
72181-TL0-E01
72131-TL0-G01
72133-TL0-G01
72150-TL0-A01

Yeah, I think the door handles are not as durable as they once were. Everytime I open my car it feels like I have to pull it all the way, and at the last second it clicks and opens, sometimes it doesn't open at all. I'll ask the dealer about it at my next oil change
Pretty interesting that the part is backordered. I wonder how many people are having the same issue. Mine seems to be working fine so far...but a co-worker was getting in today on the passenger's side and she thought I hadn't unlocked the door because it wouldn't open. Sounds like the passenger's side is starting to have the same problem.
My 12yo daughter will occasionally think the doors aren't unlocked when she goes to enter the front pass side, but it's very infrequent.
It doesn't surprise me for parts to be backordered on a car that's still pretty new. But it may very well be indicitave of others having the same issue and scarfing up inventory.

This just started happening to me this weekend. I unlocked the car and had to pull the driver’s handle several times before the door would open. It seemed like I had to pull it a lot further then normal to the point that I thought it was going to break off. Two or three times this has happened. I have added it to my list of “dealer” items that need to be addressed.
Let me know. If it doesn't it could be the the same problem my sister had on her 08 Accord and may be a failing door actuator. If the switch does open then it is similar to the issue she had in a sticky door handle (Honda has a TSB on this).
I remember a few years back an Acura service advisor told me about how many bad actuators he had replaced. I don’t think this is it in my case because it takes a lot more force and handle travel to open the driver’s door. I went around to each door and pulled the handle with one finger and the other doors opened with very little effort. Something is not right but I don’t like the idea of the dealer pulling my door apart. Eventually it has to be fixed.
Mine did this last year, dealer finally had it happen. The service manager pulled my handle about 100 times, then it did it. Ordered door handle assembly inside the door, so far its worked. I still think my passenger door opens easier. Most other TSX's I checked, the passenger and back doors open so much easier. Takes less force pulling before it pops to open.
Mine is doing this....and its getting worse. I have to pull it almost all of the way out for it to pop....and I mean pop....open. It seems like the latch is getting hung up on the metal part it connects to on the inside of the door jamb. I even tried adjusting the rubber stops in the door, but it still happens. I goes in Monday for this issue...the rear deck is rattling and the brakes are squealing from time to time.
My month and a half old TSX is doing this too. It hasn't prevented me from opening the door handle yet, but it is hard to pull open sometimes. I took it to the dealership to have them fix two different rattles, and they said they fixed both, but did not. Starting to question my decision on purchasing an Acura...
I guess the handle sticking with the way the cable is pulled on from the handle....I'm assuming. Maybe when its warmer out, the plastic on the handle and the cable stretch and get loose. I asked the service guy if they are sure it isn't the latch, and the said its not. We'll see tomorrow.
This has been plaguing my 2010 non-tech V6. Of course, the dealer thinks there is nothing wrong with it. So here's why I found based on my investigation:
1) It is definitely heat-related, rear doors are not affected.
2) the door opens much easier if you push in slightly the door while pulling the handle.
3) I pinpointed the problem to the point where the latch (on the door) hooks on the striker (on the body). it looks like the manufacturing tolerances are such that the expansion caused by the heat is maybe jamming the striker in the latch and not allowing it to rotate to open. So I took emery cloth and sanded the striker to thin it a bit. I only sanded the end of the striker where the door latches. Worst case scenario, it is easy to purchase another striker for 8 bucks. This did not totally solve the problem outright but surely made things easier. You have to be persistent (takes time) and be very careful not to scratch the paint around it.
The guys that have had their latch replaced by the dealer, did this solve your problem? In my case, the dealer did not want to replace the latch under warranty.
