powerpete introducing himself
hello,
i have been reading for some time now on this forum, so i thought it would be time to introduce myself.
My name is peter, i'm 30 years old and i live in belgium.
In march of this year i bought a brand new 2012 honda accord 2.2 i-dtec type s 180.
Its the model that you call the tsx.
I really wanted the type s, and here we have it in the 2.4 petrol version, and the 2.2 diesel version.
Because the petrol prices are going trough the roof here in belgium, i decided to get the diesel version.
And i must say i am very pleased with it.
It has 180 hp and 380 nm of torque.
I'm a real honda freak, and also like to modify them.
I am trying not to modify this car, because its our daily ride, but i just can't help it
But i am going to try to wait for a year or 2 (also because i am building a crx at the moment).
Mostly i am searching for wheel fitment info on this forum, because this will be one of the first things i am going to change.
So here are a few pics of my accord.

and the crx that i am building
i am building on it for about 2 years ( it's going a bit slow because i became a father aout a year ago), but the main works are going on under the bonnet.
I am doing a b series swap (it's a d16z5 originally) and i completely shaved and tucked the bay, and laminated it with real carbon fiber.
A whole lot of work but were getting there
here's a preview of where i'm at at hhe moment

Man thats alot of torque! must feel great. Im glad you posted pics of your car because now I know what my car would look like if I had the honda grille...at first I really wanted it but the acura one is growing on me. Crazy job on the carbon fiber frame in the CRX and your civic coupe looks really clean as well. I feel like mesh wheels are hard to pull off on that chassis but you did it well

@bobbyC: what type of engines do you guys have in the usa than?
Because mine actually is one of the "fastest" and biggest you can get here.
We have 4 types: the 2.0 gasoline engine, the 2.2 diesel engine with 150 hp, the 2.2 diesel in the type s with 180 hp (like mine) and finally the 2.4 gasoline engine witch has 200 hp.
But performancewhise the type s diesel is practically as quick as the 2.4 because he is turbocharged, so it has more torque.
But like i said, the gasoline prices are going trough the roof here, so that's why the engines are smaller here.
We do not have a v6
@jeders: we feel the same way here we always want the american parts on our honda's.
I for one would like to have the rear lights of your 2009-2011 model.
I like the clear look of the blinker and the reversing light better than the 2012 model.
Where do you guys have your foglights?
We have a foglight on the left, and a reversing light at the right, but on your cars i see that left and right are the same colour.
@hondogermany: hey man.
i know your car from accord 2008.net
i am logged in there, but don't have an account yet.
@ opboarding: no sorry
i also like the honda grille much more than the acura one (sorry guys)

We get 2.4L K24 201 hp (150 kW) and 172 lb·ft (233 N·m) I4 and 3.5L J35Z6 280 hp V6..
thats it.
i wish we got the turbo.
i know the power is about the same but i love the way boost feels. hehe
american cars dont have rear fogs. not sure why.
i would swap for your headlights in a heartbeat. i love the way those look.

and yea no rear fog lights here, thats why all the civics and integras would take the rear "EDM" fog

I have cleared the back foglights with a friend, and have the reflectors as rear foglights now. The yellow Blinker in the rear you can switch with a bulb that looks silver and only is yellow if you blink.
Here some Pics from my DIY
The red comes only from this reflector, which you have to get out.
Some glue
This is it!

@hondogermany: unfortunally i do not speak a word of german.
But i'll register on of these days, and do it in english.
That's a very nice job you did there with your rear lights
How did you convert the refectors into foglights?
i love it, but i'm sure that the inspection here in belgium is going to make a problem out of it.
And if i would do the rear light job, i would have to buy a set of 09-11 rearlights, because mine of the 2012 version are pinkish smoked like they call it here.

The reflectors is almost the same as the rear fogs. Cut the reflectors with a Dremel, put some Led Stripes in and connect them to the rear fog cable, then glue it together.
Forgot that you have the Facelift, too bad these pink rear lights!
I hated the different lights (red fog and white reverse) since I bought the car. When I saw you have no fogs, and how good that looks, I started to think how I could done this on my own. I was afraid you have different connectors for the cables in US, so I didnt buy a US rear light.
