Euronoob's MY11 Accord Euro Luxury

Hey ladies,

As you may or may not know, I'm from Australia and I'm just on here lurking around because I'm a snitch. So having owned my Euro for nearly 3 months, I've decided to finally make a thread for my progress. I've only done a few minor mods as I don't have money for the expensive stuff yet

I'm not pro photographer, just a kid with a camera.

After driving my mum's 06 Camry for nearly a year, I've been given my own car!

17th March 2011:

22nd March 2011, removed resonator:

1st April 2011, 3M wrapped my roof:

10th April 2011, 1st hit and run:

9th May 2011, disconnected muffler:
No pictures but vids (turn up the volume):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hp3eLCFffvk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYeh_eEOOKU

10th May 2011, a rock the size of a golf ball going at 90km/h (almost 60mph):

18th May 2011, Takeda arrived:

21st May 2011, Takeda installed:

27th May 2011, stock > 8000k HIDs:

28th May 2011, cousin burnt my clutch:

No pictures!

1st June 2011, 2nd hit and run:

Random shots:

Also, whilst I have your attention (hopefully), what do you guys reckon about this:

A carbon fibre BMW E60 5 series roof spoiler which fits 'perfectly' on the BMW, will that fit 'perfectly' on our Euro's? I want to buy one but I'm scared :\

Cheers!

Congrats on your purchase.

I like your roof wrap, Takeda SRI as well as the HID.

With the 18" rims and fog lights, my guess you are driving the Euro Luxury, and not the Euro Luxury Navi as they only comes with 5AT and you mentioned your cousin burnt the clutch. Ask him to drive the City or Jazz instead

I see the Australian 2011 Euro still hasn't incorporate any Mid Cycle Changes, may be they will be in MY 2012. The New Zealand Accord has the newer update for the 2011 MY- http://www.honda.co.nz/new-cars/accord-euro/explore/

I think his DRL is different from ours...ours just use the high beam bulb but if u look at the zoomed in pic of his theres a mini bulb along with the high beam bulb in the high beam/DRL housing. So it just might be the case that when his headlights are on the mini bulb stays on too.

So not fair btw...that would solve our issue of amber DRLs...cuz we can just run a LED mini bulb for DRL and then install a HID kit for the high beam blub......

Are you sure that's not just the reflection off the housing? LOL

And for whoever said the euros didn't get a Mid cycle upgrade, I'm pretty sure they did, didn't they have those dope new headlights?

Hahah yeah, you're spot on 09TSXTech, my Euro isn't the new facelift model. Though I don't mind, I think I like these fog lights more anyways. I'd just like the cleared headlights :P

LOL! I thought you removed yours already Killer? The two bolts on it were so hard to get off, I thought I was gonna pull off the whole exhaust or something.. But yeah, just go underneath the car and work those muscles of yours I suppose :P
P.S. I still get some rattling sometimes when I first start moving from a stop or reversing out slowly..

In the photos of me showing the lights, yes, they are all on. Is DRL = daytime running light or something? As in those lights will be on during the day when you're driving? Cause if so, we don't have them =o

Oh, yes, denwhat is right. I changed that mini bulb under the highbeam to a LED light to match my 8000k HIDs and yeah, that mini bulb stays on when my headlights are turned on.

No not really, you just need to have patience to do it properly without air bubbles and stuff. And I was scared to scratch my paint when I was cutting the excess vinyl off, thus there are a few gaps Only noticable when you look at the car up close.

Cheers man! And will do, I'm just waiting for some minor parts to come back in stock (like badges and stuff) and I'll post them up! Also, I need money for coils hahah. And rims will come sometime in the distant future hopefully

Haha TSXKid2010, it's not the reflection, there are 2 bulbs in there. The high beam and the mini bulb.
I thought the new headlights were cleared? :o

^Talented 18 year old.

Agreed with denwhat, I like the mini bulb setup for the Accord Euro. Half power high beam for DRL seemed so low tech.

My previous 1990 Civic Si, the headlights (full power) automatically turned on when I released the parking brake. Took me a while to find an unlabelled fuse to disable that function and just turn on headlights manually.

Also, is anyone smelling any fumes when they turn on the aircon or something after disconnecting their muffler? I get some weird smell when I have my aircon on that comes and goes. It'd be there for a bit, then go away and then it'll come back. It's not a smell like a fart or something disgusting, it just smells like fumes? Could it be from the exhaust?

About time you made a thread like this. Your car looks great! Front lip is sick and like others have said, your lights look amazing. I tried to wrap my roof once too but it was too hard so I re did it professionally. Yours came out pretty well from the looks of it.

Cheers ttk5! Got the motivation of making my roof black from you :P Except, I went with the 3M wrap instead of painting it cause I'm poor! I need to get a side skirt and a rear bumper soon.. Should've gotten it when I purchased the car

Hahah thanks Nate! Yeah, there are a lot of shit drivers that piss me off on the streets of Australia

I still haven't gotten any info back from anyone about a BMW E60 5 series roof spoiler that fits perfectly on the BMW but will it fit 'perfectly' onto our Euros (or even with minor adjustments)! Also, I'm lacking some $$ hahah!

here's some cheap mods for under $100

get some laminix tint for your turn signals and red tint for your taillight turn signals.

hood deflector from your dealer and tint it

headlight deflectors.

cf vinyl to create eye lids

black gloss vinyl to de-chrome your window moldings

mud guards

exhaust tips

m3 lip trunk spoiler

Yes, the same as CU2MIKE's one! Damn, yours didn't fit? Guess I'm gonna have to look for another roof spoiler/just leave it as it is..

get some laminix tint for your turn signals and red tint for your taillight turn signals. - I was thinking of getting headlight protectors and spraying them with a can of tint spray? I don't even know where to get laminix :o What would you suggest is better?

hood deflector from your dealer and tint it - Just like yours defcon? I wonder how that'll look on a white Euro :o Anyone got a picture?

headlight deflectors. - Headlight deflectors? Is that the same thing as headlight PROtectors?

cf vinyl to create eye lids - Heyyy... that's not a bad idea.. But it's gotta be done properly I suppose lol. And what part of the headlights were you thinking defcon? Like yours as well orrrr?

black gloss vinyl to de-chrome your window moldings - I thought about that as well but thought what if it was too dark and there isn't much contrast? And what kind of black gloss vinyl would I use?

mud guards - STILL contemplating between mud guards or a skirt and a rear bumper. I was sort of leaning towards the kit. I should've bought it when I bought the car But now that I've seen Drull post that he's doing a wide body + custom rear.. It got me thinking, where do you go to get that sort of stuff done? I would LOVE to see his results as I love wide body kits :o

exhaust tips - I shall save up money for some cat backs after my coils!!!

m3 lip trunk spoiler - You reckon the M3 lip trunk spoiler is 'better' than the duck lip spoiler of the Euros? I'm waiting for a reply from this shop in another state for the duck lip spoiler. $80 rather than spending $400~$500 for an OEM one.
Cheers for the help defcon!!

get some laminix tint for your turn signals and red tint for your taillight turn signals. - I was thinking of getting headlight protectors and spraying them with a can of tint spray? I don't even know where to get laminix :o What would you suggest is better?

http://www.lamin-x.com/Default.asp or go to a tint shop that carries colored transparent vinyl.

hood deflector from your dealer and tint it - Just like yours defcon? I wonder how that'll look on a white Euro :o Anyone got a picture?

i got my hood and headlight deflectors from australia. they dont even sell these here in the US so im very lucky to have these rare pieces. a clear or tinted hood deflector will look fine. you can check http://www.drive2.ru/cars/honda/acco...th_generation/ and look for at the russians with hood deflectors.

headlight deflectors. - Headlight deflectors? Is that the same thing as headlight PROtectors?

yes. you should be able to find these easily since youre in australia

cf vinyl to create eye lids - Heyyy... that's not a bad idea.. But it's gotta be done properly I suppose lol. And what part of the headlights were you thinking defcon? Like yours as well orrrr?

go to that russian site and there's like 2-3 different styles of eye lids. you can do the same just cutting out a template. you can always peel it off if you dont like it.

black gloss vinyl to de-chrome your window moldings - I thought about that as well but thought what if it was too dark and there isn't much contrast? And what kind of black gloss vinyl would I use?

there's only 1 kind of black gloss vinyl. you can use the same as ttk5 on his roof vinyl. you can always take it off if you dont like it.

mud guards - STILL contemplating between mud guards or a skirt and a rear bumper. I was sort of leaning towards the kit. I should've bought it when I bought the car But now that I've seen Drull post that he's doing a wide body + custom rear.. It got me thinking, where do you go to get that sort of stuff done? I would LOVE to see his results as I love wide body kits :o

skirt and rear bumper are $$$. you mentioned youre on a budget so mud guards would be more ideal. one russian is doing a wide body but there hasnt been any new updates lately. you can always attempt to create your own body kit or widebody with DIY fiberglass/resin/cardboard templates.

exhaust tips - I shall save up money for some cat backs after my coils!!!

m3 lip trunk spoiler - You reckon the M3 lip trunk spoiler is 'better' than the duck lip spoiler of the Euro

personally i didnt like the two pointed ends on the oem lip spoiler also i cant justify $200-400 for that. m3 lip trunk spoiler is cheap, simple and clean.

Cheers for the help defcon!!
good luck.

Whoa, thanks a lot defcon!
And holyyyyyyyyyyy!!! That black and white Accord on the Russian site looks SICKKK! *drool* You think it'll look too much/too weird/too mixed-and-matched if I get a black hood? Painted, not 3M vinyl? Also, how do carbon fibre parts 'work'? Do you have to custom make them yourself at a specific shop?
