BTW, the RX is coming from OpenRoad Mazda in East Brunswick, NJ. Are you close enough to scope it for me Pyro?
I will do what I can to maintain that "hero" status

Thanks Mr. Oto!

Will at least post some iPhone pics as soon as I can.
Sounds like a great plan. Let's make that suggestion in the regional forum. FATT (Friday at the Track) would be a great evening to get the kids out as well.

Thanks Pyro! I am bought this car sight unseen. However it's brand spanking new. If you have time, see if you can see it in on the lot. Chances are, it's prolly in the showroom. According to my stealership, they are sending someone up on Monday to flat bed it back here to MD.
On a side note, I have to rant about my local postal service. My Apexi mufflers came on Saturday. However, the postman was too lazy to get out of his truck to deliver it and just left me a pick up notice. WTF???

Man, thats pretty sick... I looked at mazdas for a while but was too afraid if something happend and they bellied up I would have no parts for that rotary engine
Anyways thats a cool buy, AND if you keep for a while and pass it down to your kids, its bound to become a classic with such a unique engine design.

Too damn funny Eddie'O. Love the "USA" socks ![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I went back and forth on this for a bit before deciding on the RX8. I wanted a fun car that's unique and a great handler. Yes, I could have traded in the TSX and gotten a Porsche 997, Z06, or even a GT-R. However, those cars don't make much sense financially at this time. Hence, my contenders were S2K, 350/370Z, and the RX-8. I always wanted a rotary ever since I was a teen. Being the RX-8 is the last of rotaries, the appeal of being a collectible coupled with the reputation as one of the best handling cars out of Japan made it a very logical choice for me

mann, i would've snatched the s2k in a heart beat, just because that was my first honda that i fell inlove with when i was a kid.
370z i like as well, and might've chosen over rx-8 as well
not that rx-8 is bad, but those 2 have more appeal to me haha. please do a review of the rx8 if you get a chance ben, always been interested in the rotary engine
congrats again on the purchase

Thanks Eddie'O! I have spent plenty of seat time with all 3 contenders. The S2K and the RX-8 where my favorites. The transmission on both were exceptional and I felt connected with car. The Z for all it's brute and grunt felt a bit unrefined and a bit claustrophobic to me. Most of that was do to the poor rearward and peripheral visibility. The biggest hurdle with the S2K was finding one of the latest model at a decent price with low milage. The closest I found locally was a 2008 with 18K on it and the dealer wanted $24K and would not budge. Not to mention there were a couple of dings on the body which the dealer would not fix free of charge. Luckily for the dealer, some buyer wanted it more than I did and paid what the dealer wanted. The RX8 R3 I have coming tomorrow is brand new and only 1 of 4 left on the east coast. It has 300 miles on it and there was a $3500 rebate on top of it. Negotiated a bit with my local Mazda dealer and ended up only paying a bit more than used 2008 S2K I originally looked at. So overall, I got a brand new car with a full warranty and the most updated Series-II 13B Renesis rotary engine available. I will provide updates on both the TSX and the RX8 here on this thread. You all will get my objective and unbiased review on the RX8 in the coming weeks and months.

Quick Update. I am picking up the RX on Wednesday. Car will be delivered tomorrow but I will be on business travel for the day. Pyro checked it out for me on the way to school this morning and said it looked real "cute". LOL
However, I did get my Apexi WS2 mufflers installed. Took quite a bit of hacking and shaping of pipes to make it look and fit right. The results are fantastic both to the eyes and ears. Nice bass in the lower gears around town similar to that of CT-E's. On the highway cruising at 60MPH, it feels like OEM.. Quiet. Get on it, you can hear it. Just perfect! Pics and vids coming soon when I get back from my travel.

Basically, the piping off of the CL7 muffler have to completely cut and new pipes welded into place to the factory Y-Pipe. OEM mufflers have a very short and curved pipe with the flanges bolting up the Y-pipe. Unless the muffler shop has the patience and the tools to do it for you, expect the cut and replace with new connecting section to OEM Y-pipe.
Ok.. Here's a youtube clip taken in the garage..

An RX8? And you work from home? And you successfully support a wife and kids? I'm obviously in the wrong line of work.
Here's a suggestion, part out the TSX and dump all your money and time into making the Mazda a 800 whp monster, and sell me your Megan coilovers, I will even come and pick them up myself. Kthxbye.

I love my TSX too much to part it out. It's my DD and it serves its purpose well. Even working from home, I do about 40 miles a day chauffeuring everyone around which is way better than 100+ miles per day I use to do.
Still want your fenders rolled?

Today, I am on a train to Philly for a client meeting. It's amazing how many hours you put in when working from home. Seems like I work around the clock, but damn it, it pays well ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
