highly recommend you take the wheels off to plastidip. it's easier and you don't jeopardize any of the lines and stuff with the brakes in the process. don't be a modesto.

lol^^ oh modesto... I would if I had the proper tools, or garage or time. However, Covering all of the parts behind the wheel is very easy. I am not worried at all about messing up the brakes or coating something too thick as to make it malfunction. Lastly if the plastidip reached any detrimental part of my brake assembly that means it was open to receive the paint and also open for me to peel it off.

i did it with them on the car both times, no problems. actually i had warped rotors before the first time, i swear i dont feel it anymore, and i tried hitting the brakes at 80, which is when i used to feel them, and even at 40-50. nothing. maybe weird coincidence since i mean it was all covered. i figured out a really easy way to cover the entire caliper and brake and everything actually. most of the inside of my rim didn't even get sprayed. no way i jeapoardized the brakes. use a garbage bag on each. just make a smal slit in one side, then slide it in through one spoke hole, reach around from another spoke hole, and just put it on the caliper and everything, then tape the 2 ends together. took a min per wheel, and came off in about 20 seconds. i also didn't cordon off the tire, cause honestly, it peels off just the tire really easily, and its just extra rubber on the sidewall. who cares

love that site. look at this TL http://www.dipyourcar.com/shop/page/...YI&shop_param=
and you can make a custom color. i'll be trying blue on the lugs and the valve stem cap. and maybe a gloss on the entire wheels. you can technically use regular paint over plastidip, and it'll still come off just fine. just make sure you have enough plasti to cover everything you wanna paint. and a tip my friend gave me. let your plasti dry for 24-48 hours minimum prior to doing that. if you don't, the fumes that come off the drying plasti will get trapped under the paint and crack it

PS: denwhat, you should come out to a meet soon! ride into jersey with moaarlow maybe

Gold might be worth a try. But blue...i dunno. I think flat black (the way it is now) will look the best. Small blacked out 5 spoke wheels always remind me of the spoon sw388s. Those wheels just look straight business.

nah i wouldn't do the wheels blue. i'd do blue accents, as in lugs and valve stem cap. but not blue wheels. i was saying making the wheels gold

i see. Blue lugs and valve stem might look pretty sweet with black wheels. Gold wheel with blue accents i'm not so sure about. But hey if its cheap, its worth a try. Good luck!

Well you'll cross the GWB correct? I live off the last exit on the 95 in the Bronx, Jerome Ave. So if you get onto 95 you can jump off there. Theres a Sunoco Gas Station right off the exit where we can get together.
