should i remove resonator if i already have k&n intake installed?

hey guys, kinda of a question that i cant find the answer for , but i already have the k&n typhoon intake installed on my tsx, but if i removed the resonator, will it make a diffrence?..and if so what?..or is it pointless being that i have the intake in already, or will it improve on anything, and if so what?...
thanks alot..

Hey man, with an aftermarket intake installed, the piping for the OE airbox is removed which is connected to the resonator. Now that the piping has been removed and your new intake is installed there is absolutely no need for the resonator to be there, it's just taking up space now (that's how it was explained to me). It's a fairly simple removal and there's a DIY video by Defconskylude floating around. Good luck

if you have installed the intake, the oem piping should have came out.

the cold air intake replaces all of the stock intake.
so you could not have 2 at the same time.

It really depends on what intake you install . If you install CAI or CT ice box you will need to remove all intake ducts an resonator . If you install SRI you can leave the resonator and front intake duct . On Honda's this can even be advantage as the intake ducts bring some cool air from grill , but for Acura the duct is more into engine bay .

Because you installed a SRI, the Intake resonator didn't need to be removed, but right now it serves no purpose at all. It's like the appendix of your car's engine now. You can leave it in, or take it out. If you had installed a CAI, then the CAI's intake filter would sit right where the Intake Resonator should, therefor you have to take it out, but for a SRI then it's not required to remove, but it doesn't really do anything there so if you're taking your bumper off for any reason, then go ahead and take it off.

Your resonator will be in there for a long time by the looks of it.
