HID and Tint Questions, Please Help

I just got my 2011 TSX. I want to put a 10,000K HID kit in it and Tint the tail lights as well as the windowns. Im just going by MA 30% tint law for the windows but for the taillights should i use a film tint or a spray tint?

And anyone know any places in the boston area that installs HID kits or is it easy enough i can do it?

your car already has HIDs standard. if you want to change your bulbs, just buy bulbs and change them. prepare yourself to be yelled at for lowering your light output by changing to 10k bulbs. the visibilty of that is ridiculously low compared to stock bulbs. also tinting tail lights is beyond me...why you would want to lessen the light for people behind you is mind boggling. it's like you are inviting them to rear end you. anyway it's your car, do what you want. most people who have tinted their tails used film.

swapping the bulbs out is easy if you've done it before but if you haven't then it'll be hard. one way is taking off the bumper or going through the wheel well area or if you know what you're looking for, going through your engine bay.

lmao at 10000K you'll be close to approaching purple...much less be "closer to white than blue". have you tried the search function? have you googled? http://lmgtfy.com/?q=10000K+HID+images

Last I looked, MA tint laws are 35% NET and generally enforced outside of Dorchester.

This means that you can probably use something like a 40-45% tint to achieve the NET 35%.

When I lived in Milford, my neighbor was ticketed for 33% The tint shop didn't use a tintmeter (the cops did) to measure the factory glass (they just guessed) and used a 38% tint. The tint shop ended up reoing it with 45% and everyone was happy.

With 30% tint, purple headlights and slightly visible tail lights you will be the ultimate cop magnet. You'd better have deep pockets.

Not to mention, with 30% tint, purple headlights, and slightly visible tail lights you would also look like a retard

I'd stick with the OEM HID's. The HID's on the TSX are amazing. Especially when you compare them to other cars with HID's. They are a hell of a lot nicer on the TSX than they are on my Lexus.

As for the tinted tail lights....eh, if you do it, use a wrap or something that you can just remove (not the spray). You may hate them after a while.

As for tint, we did 35% all around and it looks good. A little darker than I would have liked, but my wife wanted it at like 15% so we compromised lol.

I think he agrees. That's why he now wants to do 20%

Yeah im not trying to get pulled over all the time anymore. I had a truck with 2.5% tint they use on like limos and my tail lights were rediculously black. Im thinking the 40% is probably a good idea. and as for tinted tail lights, i changed my mind. I dont want it to look like a kids car.

Good choices! I know people like to do low costs mods up front, like different color HID's, tinted this and that, painted brakes and such. Yet in the long run, your taste may change!

I think with the TSX, a nice light tint, OEM decklip spoiler, some wheels and coilovers make the car look real nice.

Then again, every car I have....I have to change the interior lights to LED's! Hate the warm yellowish look of the interior with the OEM bulbs. That's a nice looking cheap mod you could do. Just don't go too blue.

It looks like crap half of the time. Esp with red on a OEM TSX wheel. I would like to powdercoat mine black, but it's a lot of work to have the car down for a few days and remove the calipers.
