Just got the exhaust on today!!!!! Beautiful looking!!!!! Also installed the takeda short ram intake. Love the sound, not too loud unless I want it to be. And no drone on the freeway..Whooooooooooooo
I'll try to take some pics soon......Also would like to give a "shout out" to trackspec autosports in Fremont, California for their magnificent job on the install. needed to slightly shave one of my UR tie rod bars to fit exhaust on.

Sorry guys been meaning to update. I got mine installed last week and it sounds great. However it's a bit loud with the RV6 PCD, but even more so because the flange which connects the driver side muffler to the rest of the piping is rubbing on my Progress RSB. So with that...
If you have the Progress RSB, you will need to make modifications to fit it properly!
I'm going to a shop next week to see if it's possible to extend the exhaust a bit outwards. If not, then I'm going to delete the flange and weld the thing. My apologies no pics right now, but the driver side muffler hangs a bit lower than the passenger side #ricer. Hopefully it will come out good after I get this bit of work done, and maybe it won't be as loud in the cabin after I do this because the vibrations won't transfer into the car via the RSB.

Dang bro, I know that hurts when a small detail like that can mess up a bolt on procedure.

Update/repost from my build thread:
Picture of the flange rubbing/pushing against my Progress RSB.
Attachment 101547
Yeah I know, my camber arms are rusted to hell from dailying this 365 days a year, which includes Canadian winters. As you can sort of see, the flange is rubbing against this rubber piece that my exhaust guy put in (to prevent metal-to-metal contact). This was causing two issues: 1) the aforementioned fitment issue of the driver side muffler hanging lower, and 2) increased cabin noise because of the exhaust vibrations travelling through the RSB and ultimately onto the chassis.
Unfortunately, I was too upset/embarrassed to take a picture of the misaligned exhaust, so I don't have any pictures of how each muffler looks relative to each other.
Our solution was to extend the exhaust outwards about an inch.
Attachment 101548
Here's a comparison of how much is extended:
Before:
Attachment 101549
After:
Attachment 101550
My apologies the pictures aren't exactly apples-to-apples. I'll have more pics up soon after I finally get a chance to wash her.
As for sound, cabin noise has been reduced! It's no longer obnoxious and I'm no longer embarrassed to accelerate around 3k+ RPM lol. I also don't have an after pic for this, but the flange is definitely not touching the RSB anymore.

If you are not concern about warranty. Consider either of these item as the fix.
Hooker 41172HKR Stainless Steel TORCA Style Exhaust Coupler, 2-1/2 In.
https://www.ecstuning.com/ES294966/?...FZaEaQodEYwIvQ
Also, I would contact Greddy & let them know of the problem. They are an aftermarket company & should expect other aftermarket supplier parts being used.
I think the tip is out too much now.

Here is a better link to the ECS website showing the available sizes.

How much louder would you say this is over the stock exhaust? Is it 50% more?

Take this with a grain of salt... I'm not very good at guestimating/quantifying "how much louder". If I had to describe it... it's not a very loud exhaust. Maybe a bit louder than the Fujitsubo videos you might find on YouTube. So, sure maybe around 50% in general when cruising. However, I believe because of the RV6 downpipe/PCD, 2.5-3k RPM is closer to about 100% louder. I think I also mentioned somewhere (possibly my build thread) that the previous RV6 PCD rasp has sort of transformed into more of a drone now with the exhaust. There's a bit of buzzing around 2.5K to just under 3K RPM (RPM range directly correlates with the rasp RPM range with stock exhaust), and because of this it also feels louder around that RPM range.
From the outside, it's definitely not obnoxiously loud, but I suppose that's rather subjective! For what it's worth, I tried snapping a video of the exhaust from about 2-3 feet away with my iPhone, and I could hardly pick up the noise (outdoor, not underground, but not much wind either). Again, not a great data point, but figured I might as well share that as well.

Yeah, noise level is the single big reason that is holding me back from an exhaust upgrade. I already have an R53 as my daily driver which is loud in stock trim. Not from the exhaust, but overall a loud little car. Like you, I'd run into clearance problem if I was to install this exhaust system. Less my RSB but my ultra racing rear member brace.
#63
I just have takeda short ram with greddy exhaust and it's not loud at all. Great upgrade from stock. This combo really allows the engine to breathe much more. Was going to get car tuned but for now I'm happy with this upgrade

Do you have the stock catalytic converters? If you do, I don't think the GReddy will be very loud at all. But if you're going for comfort, I say stick to stock if you're not all that into the sound . With the RV6 PCD I have, it's just a little bit annoying around 2.5-3K is all. If I had a 6MT, highway cruising would be even better since I wouldn't have to hover so high in the RPM range. It's not so bad now, but depending on your setup it could prove to be fairly subtle

I'm currently running the greddy with stock downpipe and cat, not very loud at all. Has a nice tone to it. Nervous to add the downpipe and high flow cat because it may become really annoying
and its definitely sitting against my Rsb lol

My exhaust is all stock. I was considering the RV6-HFPC. So no HFPC if I decide to go with the greddy.

I only extended it about an inch. If you want it to sit flush with your wagon exhaust opening though, it will probably not fit a sedan if you chose to sell it in the future.

How are you guys liking your Greddy Exhaust, I seen one on ebay that I am looking to buy https://www.ebay.com/itm/GREDDY-SUPR...-/282184073940 Any one have experience with ebay Catbacks? Also is there anyone selling their greddy exhaust so I can save some bucks buying used vs new.

I got mine from HeelToe. Ask Marcus if there are any deals that can be had. I ordered it when it first came out and took advantage of the early-bird special.

I like it. Mine's only fairly loud because I paired it with the RV6 downpipe as well. I've heard it on my buddy's car which had the OEM downpipe and it sounded great; not loud.

Also what is the significance of installing this exhaust vs stock... I am looking to pair it with a Takeda CAI.

Issues I've had:
- I have the Progress RSB (rear sway bar) installed, and the GReddy's flange will hit the bar. I had a shop extend the exhaust about an inch so that the flange would no longer be in contact with the bar.
- The GReddy-provided gasket at the same flange as mentioned in #1 deteriorated/broke after a year. I ordered a replacement gasket from Vibrant and replaced it. I don't suspect this is a common issue; I think it's a combination of having the RV6 downpipe + Vit tune (causing temps to be higher than normal), and the fact that went down a nasty (unavoidable) pothole that caused me to seemingly bottom out which may have stressed the gasket, causing it to crack.
- You'll get a louder, deeper exhaust note.
- You'll get nicer looking mufflers/tips.
- You'll have something made by GReddy.
- You'll think your car is faster, even though it really isn't.

It's stainless steel, and last I checked I haven't seen any rust.

This is a work in progress guy's. The video is a test run! Unfortunately, I cant find a quality fabricator in my area that is synonymous with customer service. Instead of dealing with these A-holes. I've decided to by a TIG welder and put the system together myself. So for now I've shelved this project. Around summer after vacation, I'll buy the TIG welder & get this done.
Be sure to read the comment for the video
