Quote: Did you get rid of the OEM resonator? I thought the Vibrant as a second resonator kills all rasp produced by the RV6 PCD. At least, that's what many people said in the PCD thread.

I'm getting my PCD installed next Monday. I asked if it would make sense to just weld a second resonator at the same time they install the PCD, but they insisted I give it a try without one first, even though I told them like 99% of the 2G TSX guys is having problems with rasp. I'll probably go with the 12" long 2.5" Vibrant one after I give it a test. I'm pretty sure it's gonna annoy me as well.
Yeh I cut the oem res cuz I cracked that shit from my car being too low. It should be fine without a vibrant if u got an oem res.

I read the PCD thread inside out; 90% of the people say with stock res the rasp is annoying as hell. But stock res + vibrant as as second should fix it right up

and LOL how the hell did you crack it! You must be slammed . Any pics of your ride?

U know when they do construction on the road and they put those metal plates over it to cover the unfinished road work. Well I was going 45 down the street didn't see the metal sheets hit that shit flew up and slammed back down. Blew my drivers side coilover shock and cracked the resonator -.-"

My car too dirty to post pics lol. Plus I raised it an inch ever since that incident. I'll post pics of it when I get my cf hood installed on Tuesday.

We've had the CU2 exhaust pipe done for almost a year now. We just ordered some custom mufflers and resonators. Tuning it be rasp free with PCD and test pipe.

The tip choice has be baffled since everyone has their own taste.

Put it on today and it starts raining when I was just about to wash my car
U can probably see the dark clouds off the reflection. Fitment was better then I expected from a cf hood.

damn, I'd be totally interested if there was some sort of deal for catback + HFC as I already have the PCD.

Hey Richie, do you guys have an ETA on the TSX catback? I'm holding off on installing a Vibrant resonator on my stock exhaust for this, but it's getting kinda annoying

Hey, where'd you buy it? And for how much? I love the exhaust too... but can't justify the price.

RV6 when's the catback coming out??!

not a bad deal.. considering

congrats on your purchase! do you have the RV6 precat delete installed by any chance? I'm curious if the fujitsubo would eliminate all of the rasp. It's an (expensive) option, but if I do go down this route, I really would not want to chop up an expensive JDM exhaust just to put a second resonator in.

I have the sports bumper and it bolted right up. I don't have any other mods yet as the car still has another year and change warranty left. So I can't tell you about raspiness. Currently there is no raspiness at all. It's quieter than I thought but does have a great sound to it

I had RV6 PCD + HFC installed and my car is loud as hell now. Raspiness can be heard from 2800rpm to around 3500rpm. I have a 12in Dynomax lying around so i'm gonna put this next Saturday.

I have the RV6 PCD as well, but I'm trying to put off installing a resonator onto the stock exhaust because RV6 is reportedly working on a full catback solution for us that's designed to minimize rasp with their PCD and testpipe. Just not sure when it will be released.. car sounds like rice between 2500-3000 RPM for me.

Yeah, completely stock after the PCD. 2nd cat in place, and stock catback. OEM resonator still in there too.

Driving my car around is now like "hey everyone, my car is so ricey". I don't want to step hard on the gas at all as it's quite annoying. I must put in a second resonator this weekend while waiting on Richie.

I havent ordered mines yet but can someone post a driving video showing the rasp?
Right now in my stock car when you floor it in 3rd gear below 20 mph I hear this rattling sound. Not sure if that is rasp or not. I hear some other times also

Recorded by Asian Candy, a member here. He's since gotten rid of the rasp with a second resonator.

Yeah I did. Mid to top end pulls harder. Definitely a must-have part if you're in for performance. I'd say best bang-for-the-buck performance mod that actually has some noticeable results.

Only thing that's driving my nuts is the rasp. RV6 replied to my email.. but they basically said the same thing they said in the forum. They ordered muffers/resonators and will be working on optimizing the rasp/sound when they come in; the rest of the piping/bends are complete. I emailed them once more about an ETA and never got a response. I think it's a fairly low-priority project for them.

I'll give them another week or so. If I still don't hear back about an ETA, I'll likely go ahead with getting a Vibrant resonator.

It'll rasp, no question about it. Whether it annoys you or not is a matter of personal preference

Outside I don't really know cuz I don't have a go pro to mount onto the back of my car to hear it as I drive it. All I have is the cold start rev vid at the moment and you can be the judge of how that is haha. Recorded on an iPhone 5, so quality might be meh.

For FM radio I have the volume set to about 15 most of the time. And through my iPhone it's at about 10. That's already pretty loud for me. If I'm say, 1/3 throttle or so, and I'm in the low RPMs in a high gear... say 2.5k in 3rd or something stupid, it'll rasp like a mofo afaik inside the cabin. It's really just this 1k RPM window (2-3k) where the rasp really exists though. If you're often above 3k, you won't notice it much.

Taking a video inside the cabin is going to be useless IMO. I've tried a few times... listening to it on my phone it doesn't sound like there's much rasp. It's apparent in person. My girlfriend hates it... I hate it too.

Why not get a second resonator? Are you still under warranty? I have a MY13 and I'm probably gonna end up chopping up my exhaust lol

Yeah i still do have warranty... and I also don't wanna chop shit up. Just want to do bolt ons that can be removed when i sell the car easily.

I'm between 2-3k a lot actually. And the car sits at like 2700rpm while cruising at around 80mph. so is that shit gonna just be rasping all the way down the highway? that would be so annoying.
