CT-Engineering Releases the Supercharger

The Supercharger is out

Now which one of you is going to fork out the money to do it

I'm not going to fork out the money plus installation since I'm planning on buying a house

I know some of you have been waiting for this for a loooong time. But for those who are really going to do it let's see a show of hands

I've spent about $3000 buying guns the last couple of month so I'm definitely out of fun money.

Oh great, another manufacture that only makes parts for the 09-10 tsx. wtf, is the 11-12 TSX a different car or something??? What am i missing here? SO annoying.

EVERYONE, PLEASE, PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS OF THIS.

without engine management, your engine WILL go boom.
there are half ass tunes out there, that will work (aem fic) but are not fully bullet proof. (only applies to the vsix.)

I'm not sure if the I4 guys have found a viable tuning solution.

The kit in standard form generates 6 pounds of boost which is good for 45-50 wheel horsepower on the TSX.
I was expecting more than that. =/

The Hondata Flashpro is available for the 09-10 I4 for tuning. That's also the reason why the SC kit is limited to the 09-10. Once they crack the 11+ ECU, I'm sure they'll be able to advertise the SC kit for the 11+ guys.

I'm sure CT-E will include a base tune with the kit since that was what their delay was from. I'll confirm if they provide a reflash for the guys that don't want Flashpro (SC kit w/o flashpro = $3995, SC kit w/flashpro = $4690). They had SC's ready to ship awhile ago, but weren't selling them since they didn't want any one to blow up their engines with a crappy tune and put the blame on the SC. They had to wait till Hondata was able to crack the 09-10 ECU and for Flashpro to become available and then tune with Hondata/Flashpro. Once they got a good base tune for the SC kit, they can have people send thier ECU's in for reflashes using a dealer/tuner Flashpro (all black unit), or just preload or send the tune to people that already have the consumer Flashpro (black and silver unit).

One thing that CT-E experience in testing the SC kit is that higher boost would cause the precat to overheat. They do have a smaller pulley kits for Civics for higher boost, I don't see why the pullies wouldn't work on the TSX SC. We now have available the RV6 precat delete which eliminates the problem of overheating the precat. The only thing that would be left for higher SC boost would be bigger fuel injectors for the TSX and a tune for the smaller pulley.

YES, I want it! I thought it would be more expensive actually. But I guess it kinda will once you buy straight pipes, exhaust etc...

I'm going to buy one, I just have to graduate first lol

Some food for thought:

Weight

Base TSX I4 weight - 3479 lb
Base TSX V6 weight - 3659 lb
Difference - 180 lb
CT-E SC Kit - 27 lb

Weight Distribution
I4(AT) - 60/40
V6(AT) - 62/38
I4+SC(AT) - 60.3/39.7

Power
I4 Dyno Stock - 171hp/158tq
V6 Dyno Stock - 233hp/213tq
I4+SC Advertised (+50hp/+35tq) - 221hp/193tq

So in the end, the I4 equipped with the SC will still be slightly down on power, but will be 153 lbs lighter compared to the V6. I4 handling will still be better since there will be less weight over the front wheels compared to the V6. Add intake, PCD, and exhaust and V6 power from the I4 would probably be attainable .

its limited due to the pulley.
like one poster said, you could put a higher boost pulley on it.

I think you are generalizing to much, I have run forced induction without a full tune, albeit for a short period of time on low boost but to say no tune or increase boost will blow your motor isn't a guarantee. I have experience with boosted cars and I have never blown a motor under boost but I have all motor, food for thought.

Holy crap. I was gonna go buy an R1 this week but it looks like I might have to do this instead! Just to be clear, this kit is also for the 5AT as well, right? Sadly, I do have an auto.

I contacted CT-E and they said the kit will work with AT and MT. The SC will not come with a reflash since Hondata does not have flash capability available yet. The wisest choice would be to go the Flashpro route. With Flashpro, they do have a base tune that will get you to the advertised power increase, but they recommend to do a tune to ensure you can get maximum power.

Rock on. Thanks for inquiring. I'd definitely go with flashpro
anyway. good to have future options for further tuning.

This is my 2 cent in this, I rather spend $4500 on feeding hungry kids in the u.s or my wife lol. I just think $4500 is way over price for a 40-50+ hp gain. Don't get me worng I'm a big fan of CT they do very good work and the guys are awsome. I rather go turbo for half price

lol and for this price you get a reliable SC too...CT-E does their homework. It may only be 40-50HP, but it's 40-50 RELIABLE HP.
