CT-Engineering Releases the Supercharger

^^ full race has a setup up coming out that is going to make this a real clean install. I think I am willing to hold out for them to release it for the tsx. I seen the vid of the SC vs TC, and the TC just walks away... it was breathtaking...

You know, I considered the evo X before getting the tsx. Few things stuck out to me: gas mileage, back seats, cost to insure. It just made the purchase seem (to me a dad with two kids) slightly selfish, because then the wife's car would do all of the family outings. I also checked out the sti, a mustang has more rear leg room than the wrx/sti. It's pretty sad.

It's not really smaller than the TSX in the back by much, it serves the wife and my son well. I guess I'm a bit selfish. Gas, yes it does suck but turbo charging the TSX isn't going to make the mpg better. When I had the turbo 07 Si it was about 20 mpg with 245 whp on 4 psi. We take my wifes suv on all the outings.

So, anyone else buy one of these yet? The pricing seems very tempting at $3,500 w/o flash pro (which i would get due to various bolt-ons). I decided to wait on the FRS due to some of the issues that have been found. Think I'll wait until the second or third model year. But until then this TSX needs some more attention. The body is starting to look like crap. Thanks you, Virginia drivers! But I still wouldn't mind more juice. Anyone have any more/new success stories yet? Thought this thread would be hoppin' by now.

Waiting for the full race kit, I was so up on the S/C, but seeing the videos of the S/C it kind of made me sad.

I'm not sure the auto trans can hold the power/torque of a turbo and we are still unsure if it'll even come out.

If it doesn't happen, then I'll slap the S/C with an aftercooler on it.

Wait, are we talking about the same things here? I didn't think a turbo was a viable option. I know it CAN be done but I didn't think anyone was actually trying.
Personally, I intended to go with the smaller pulley on the s/c setup. I wanted to get to about 275whp which is a full 100 more than I have now and obviously with a tune and flashpro. Hmmmm... so many possibilities. That little "Check Out Now" button kills me everytime.

Get the s/c, nobody is certain that they'll make a turbo kit for this car. And the s/c, like you said can get more power via a smaller pulley and injectors.

Wish you would have bought my used p2r. I was selling it for way cheaper than new.

I am selling mine for what I would consider a very reasonable 100 bucks. I even put in that the price is negotiable. Any reasonable offer won't be refused. No one responded to the thread. It was crushing...

One thing about the tsx and the black market, and I'd assume the retailers also, everyone that drives a tsx talks a big game, but few do anything to make any purchases. Not like the civic or integra... So anything you buy, you buy forever is the vibe I'm getting.
And 100 bucks, obo compared to the 250 I paid is a 60% discount. It was used for 3-4 months. It's a pipe. Air flows through it. That is all. There are no moving parts to break down, I don't live by salt water.

So true. Part of this seems to be due to the typical owners of these especially of those who bought them used. If they truly wanted something to modify a vehicle, they would have chosen something else. Even Lexus is better on this front. Part of changing that involves more Type-S models from the factory to give a better baseline model and not being Hondas with Acura badges. Unfortunately, the typical Acura owner is a Honda buyer who is stepping up a bit to get into it as opposed to a true luxury car buyer and is then a bit more cash strapped just to get the car. disclaimer: This is purely opinion through anecdotal evidence from previously selling Acura.

My car makes approximately 265 whp. Given an estimated 20-25% drivetrain loss, that's 325-330bhp. It dyno'd stock at 191, so about 72-73 more whp. That's a fair amount of HP gain. That was also well before the flash pro and cat delete came out. It'll be even higher once I install the cat delete and tune it with the flash pro. My pipe is supposed to be here on the 20th; dyno time to follow the week or two after that.
I know where you're coming from on this. I'm a bit outside the norm in this though though. I've owned everything from civic's to E46 M3's and modified them all; some heavily. My TSX is heavily modified and I'll continue to modify it. So far it's still the only SC'd 2g TSX in the USA, and about to get even stronger in the next couple of weeks. From what I've been told, not many people have even ponied up for the flash pro for our TSX, let alone the SC.

itrhybrid - I think I'm going to SC mine, I am talking to a shop that is going to create an after cooler and a few other parts for mine. I want to put it all on at once, to minimize the down time.
I am also going to pick up and LSD, and have it installed. Keep fingers crossed for the best. If it works, I'll share all of my information with the community.
I want a lighter weight flywheel, and a stronger clutch, but may do them in phases, LSD, SC/CAC, then after it's totally tuned pick up the flywheel and clutch... Not sure on that one yet...

I think the LW FW will be fine. I'm going to give it a shot, I think there might have been something improperly installed. Every other car that comes out can run one, I don't see how integra type R flywheel he put in started working, but somehow that 2 lb difference, between the R and exedy would make the tsx ecu just break?? New cars coming out can take lwfw, why would Acura do something goofy so you couldn't. It doesn't make any sense.

Went to the dyno today and grabbed a few clips of the car with the P2R pipe on now. Dyno didn't go as well as planned, but the exhaust sounds great at least. There's a couple of clips of the engine bay in there too.
Filmed with a Canon 5d mk3 (built in mic) and 24-70 2.8.

Yes I have printouts here on my desk. Need to scan them still. Output was not as expected though. Only made 215whp. We were logging and could see the ECU/knock sensor pulling timing from 5000RPM and up. We'd set it to 13-14 and it was dropping down to 8. So either I have some pad gas, or something with this latest tune from Hondata isn't happy. I sent the datalog to Rob and he was going to forward it to CTE.
