Speakers Rattling
Speakers Rattling
Does anyone have a problem with their front doors rattling when the audio volume is turned up? When my volume is turned up to around level 30, the bass tends to make the door rattle and it will stop when I push against the door. So something seems to be loose. This seems to be only happening specifically with the front right door, but sometimes on the front left as well. I haven't heard anything from the back doors, but I'll have to check. Has anyone had a similar problem?
i have the ELS system sounds awesome when all the speakers are working lol but trust me i know a blown speaker im just giving my 2 cents since i have had so many issues with what seems to be cheap speakers in a $32k car but as long as they keep replacing them for free ill keep taking it in

Thanks guys. Yea this is definitely rattling, not a blown speaker, I know what blown speaker sounds like. I have the 09 base. The rattling tends to get very annoying at times. Sometimes you don't hear anything and the speakers sound great, but on specific songs it sounds like something is rattling against bare metal. The weird thing is that it happens 90% of the time out of the front right speaker and only that speaker. But I have heard the front left rattling every now and then, but not too often.
When I get a chance I'm going to take off the door covering and see if I can find out whats going on. Maybe somethings loose, but I'm thinking some type of insulation is my best bet if I can find the source.

what is your audio settings (bass, treble, sub)?? I have it at 0, -1, 0 respectively. But, i only turn my volume up to 15-20...20 is plenty loud for me. No rattles at all for me.
I would just take your TSX into your dealer and your dealer take care of it...why waste your time?? That is what warranty is for! And since it is happening only on one side, then there must be something wrong.

I have a rattle in my rear passenger speaker. I took it in to the Dealership and got the shop foreman to listen. He noticed it, but when the tech got to it, he reported "unreproducable issue"

TSX Speaker Problems
I have had TSX w/tech package for 10 days, in shop twice to replace 3 blown speakers on driver's side. Dealer very responsive. Now passenger door speaker is blown. I heard it go at a low volume (<10). Was told that some cars come from factory with problem. Very disappointing since sound system is highly rated and touted as outstanding, but I can't get full benefit b/c speakers are faulty. Any one have any other ideas re speaker problem?
I had the same problem with my 09 TSX tech and got tired of taking it back to the dealer to replace them (all 4 doors speakers had the rattling sound at different times).
I ending up putting in aftermarket Infinitely speakers and haven't had any issues since then ..

just got a 2010 base. the rattle coming from the rear deck is terrible! i was really shocked. when i press on the deck it gets a little better. im guna stick something between the glass and brake light.
In the 17 months I've had my TSX w/tech package, I've had 6 of my speakers replaced. I keep it below 17 and my bass/treble settings are not more than +2. Plus I only listen to podcasts and hard rock (not metal or thumping bass).
Very disappointed in Acura.
Very disappointed in Acura.
I have a Tech and the sound system is a piece of shit. I've blown six speakers and all of my settings are at C (centre) and I seldom listen to music any louder then 12. Most of the time it hovers between 8 and 10. I like to hear what my car is doing so I never listen to loud music. I also get popping sounds when I balance from left to right to isolate which speaker is blown. Which indicates dirty power. I'm sure the amplifier is the problem and not the speakers. Probably cost more to replace amps then speakers though...
My wife has the Premium and she blares her music and hasn't had any problems.
The Tech uses Panasonic speakers. The Premium uses Foster speakers. I only know this because the pin head at Campus Honda didn't want to order the speaker until he knew which one was in the Tech TSX. I don't know, seems like a no brainer to me since the Foster speaker is less expensive then the Panasonic. Which would lead most people with any common sense to deduce that the Tech has the more expensive Panasonic speakers. Even though they are shit speakers.
What's really disappointing is Acura won't acknowledge that there is a problem.
Seems like Toyota is not the only one denying responsibility for problems.

Replacing ALL speakers.
I called Burrard Acura and explained the problem with my speakers to one of their service advisors who informed me that ALL the back speakers need to be replaced. Subwoofer, door speakers, and rear shelf speakers.
I have an appointment on Wed to have the work done.
From Campus Honda who were trying to suggest I was pushing too much base through the speakers to Burrard Acura who want to replace all the speakers in the car.

Never gone past 20 but my bass is @ the highest. Question: If you have a speaker blown and you buy aftermarket can the dealer install those for free? I'm assuming its the same thing jsut different names for brands....
Yeap mine has the front side driver rattle/distortion as well. It only happens on some songs with a deeper bass frequency but on cold mornings I can hear a bit of distortion as well. I can't really tell on the other speakers but I will look into it later on.
