MP3 > HDD - 2012 TSX w/ tech pkg

What's the recommend way to burn CDs from MP3s so that I can transfer them to the HDD?

My first attempt, they all came over with "No Title / No Track" as the name. My second attempts, I got "Bad CD."

Some of the music is music that I ripped to my hard drive from the original CDs (that are long since gone), and others are songs that I bought from Rhapsody.

Any suggestions?
Thanks.

p.s. Does anyone else think that it sucks that you can't just transfer files from a flash drive to the Acura's HDD?

Yes, I agree that it would be much nicer to just transfer files from a flash drive via the USB connection. I currently use the Bluetooth Audio function to stream Pandora or songs from my iPhone, so it hasn't been that big of a deal.

Well I guess we can't have it all without modding it can we?

All you have to do is burn an AUDIO CD using your MP3's. NOT an MP3 CD or DATA CD. I'm burning one as we speak.. I'll let you know how it goes, but I'm sure it'll work perfectly.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think CDs without DRM don't work. I tried to rip several burned audio CDs and the system wouldn't do it.

Thank you RIAA.

I burned 4 Audio CD's using various MP3's & my 2012 TSX ripped them without a problem. Each track is labeled appropriately as well.

But when it's an AUDIO disc, doesn't this cut back on the amount of MP3s you can put on a CD, though? Forgive me if this is a silly question in today's time, but it has been *YEARS* since I have done anything but a DATA disc for MP3s.

Correct.. I got 23 Tracks on my last burned CD. It'll vary depending on the size of each MP3 & the type of blank CD your burning it to.

Since Blank CD's are dirt cheap & it takes a minute to burn a full audio CD I'm not crying about it. I love having all my labeled albums/tracks sorted on my cars HDD.
If it was even possible I'd pass on having 200 MP3's on 1 CD ripped. That's messy as hell.

The song by voice feature is also extremely convenient.

Sheeit, looks like I'll have to try it again. The ones I tried were several years old and used old-school dyes, so maybe that's why they didn't work. I also assume you used CD-text to get the track names, will have to try that as well. Thanks Wired.

Okay that's what I thought, thanks!

And you could also use CD-RWs as well, and rewrite the disc a few times.

Back in the day I had made a few MP3 CDs with a TON of MP3s on them, and playing them is not that bad really in my TSX.

Any way to get a mixed audio CD to label correctly? I did one with songs from several albums on it and all of the songs had the "album" name of the CD, which was "Car". I then went into a song, changed the album to the correct name but it changed all of the other "Car" tracks too. TIA.

It's working the way it's supposed to. You can't create multiple Album names from one CD.

Just think of it this way.. Each created Album on your car's HDD is essentially a virtual CD and has the same characteristics.
