Fuuuunnn!!! No Audio at all.

So I was on a trip to visit some family this evening and was on HFL for work. I was on hold with a company we deal with a lot and had to make another phone call so I used another phone and placed a call.

I don't know if it had anything to do with the phone calls, but suddenly there was a high pitched noise, almost like feedback from a microphone being to close to a loud-speaker. I immediately ended both phone calls thinking it was because of the phones. After hanging up there was still the high pitched sound and then suddenly the iPod music came over really loud (even though the volume wasn't that high) then went out completely.

I changed to various audio sorces and could hear the sound quietly over the high pitched tone. I turned off the stereo hoping that restarting the car would fix the problem.

A little later I had made a stop and after restarting and getting on the road I turned on the stereo and there was absolutely no sound at all. I went through all the audio sources and nothing. Even the voices for the navigation and HFL have no voice coming over the speakers.

I really love my car, but am kind of sick of all the service issues I have had with the car.

Wish I could help you...factory amp blown maybe?
At least you're still under warranty. Imagine having to figure this out on your own dime!

Haha, I was thinking both of those. Despite the frustrations the local dealer has always been great at fixing everything and I'm glad I still have a lot of time left on the warranty. When it happened I kind of freaked and afterwards was grateful that I didn't crash or something.

Damn, so sorry to hear that! Our entire system SUCKS and it is upsetting me to no end! I've had 4 speakers replaced, my driver's side tweeter and center channel speaker are now suddenly acting up, my XM note feature does not work which is indicating a bad module from the research I have done so far, and yesterday when the little voice came on to tell my what XM channel I was switching to, the system never reset from the voice and I only had sound coming out of the rear speakers.

Very, very disappointed w/ the quality so far...

It seems like all these problems with the system is from tech cars with a ELS system, is this correct?
Now I know why consumer reports gave the audio system a half black circle, which is not good. The 09 TSX has all full red circles, a few half red circles and one half blck circle for the audio system, I guess cunsomer reports is right on the money!

Im at 6,xxx km on my car, so its still fairly new, but recently at around start up of my car, on lower volumes i hear a squeaking coming from the front end, when i turn off the volume it goes away.. but as the car warms up or after about 5-10 minutes it disappears.. im assuming it to be the driver side speakers but im not entirely sure.. how does a blown speaker sound??

Before anyone can trouble shoot I think you have to determine whether or not when you say "front end" you mean the car, the engine or the speaker.

Yeah. a 'front end' speaker noise sounds like 'ffffbbbbbtttt' at lower volumes, I know all about it.
