There's a HUGE thread on LEDs.... they're talked about quite a bit in there. General reception is that they're excellent. For specifics on what people had to say, as well as pics:

So I installed these last month and they are good and easy to put into the car.

The one feature I like is the ability to adjust the brightness (which I did on the map lights only). I do think they are overpriced.

Some suggestions:

1) There is an install video on you tube which is helpful. Just ignore the lens removal for vanity as the guy is wrong. You where to pry up the lens from the bottom (at least for a 2014 TSX). If your vanity lens look different then use the video approach.

2) Pry off lenses slowly

3) Brightness controls are counter intuitive meaning turning to the right dims them

Finally, this seems like a good deal and I think the same LEDs just no dimming.

What makes you think that they are the "same" LED's?

Yes, the exLEDs are a bit expensive but there are few - if any - reports of failures and no reports of electrical system failures or "weird" problems. That makes it "reasonably priced" in my book.

They are the exact same 5050 LEDs. I've bough all kinds in the past and frankly short of the lens caps and dimming there is no difference. The caps are a nice touch for the map lights as they hide the yellow LED color when the LEDs are off.

But thats still $30 vs. $120.

Now EXLED does have different temps and that may be a reason to buy…but at 6K these two products are the same.

Finally, where do you see any reports of failures for any 5050 led?

On the exLED, the dimming is done with a small screwdriver on the LED circuit board.

And dimming is done by turning counter clockwise

I bought from ebay and it's much cheaper, I've had 1 LED that DOA, the seller replaced it for me at no extra charge (did have to wait an extra 2 weeks for it) ... and it's been over a year, all of them still working well.

If dimming of the map light is important to you ... sure, but $30 vs $120 is a huge difference.

ExLED did a group buy for us, got it for something like 90. when i pieced everything together for my 2010 i got all ebay for around 55, felt this was worth the bump for my 2013. Jin was great to deal with, the product is quality and many of us here use the LED set. What you get is your choice =)

I agree. EXLed will sell the led's individually so you can get get the map/dome from them, and the reset from ebay.

You know, it is funny. There are so many horror stories about junky LED's frying wiring harnesses that I find it incredible that people will try to save a few bucks by buying unknown products from eBay.

Are the eBay items built specifically for the TSX or are they generic replacements for the festoon bulbs? What is the quality of the circuit board?

Y'all will waste money on oil changes every month (or 50 miles, whichever comes first) but won't spend a few extra bucks buying something that has a track record.

Buy what you want but don't come back here whining when those eBay bulbs end up costing you big bucks in repair bills.

lol what makes the exLED so special vs an eBay one? It's all the same. The only reason one would fry a harness would be a short somewhere on the board.

Just check it yourself before installing. I'm sure the only difference with exLED is they have quality control before sending these things out.

your argument is invalid. TSX is Racecar, Toyota just accelerates endlessly with complete disregard for the brake! wait... i see the analogy, BOTH are RACECAR

and that costs money. A quick visual can't show you all the possible problems.
