courtesy lights powered by switch

So i bought a pair of light strips in the summer that i was going to put underneath my headlights to get that audi r8 look, but i saw picture of it done and didnt like they way it looked. So i finally came up with an idea for them. I placed them on the ceiling of the car like right in that spot where that black weather strip (i think thats what its called) is on the roof. you can like peel it back, and stuff in it, in this case the led light strip. and the good part is i didnt have to even use the tape on the led's cause the weather strip creates a tight seal. Also i used side glow led strips so the light shines through the side, making it so the light strip is super hidden and a very clean install. Next i had to do some drilling to add the switch, i also had do some fuse tapping but the overall result you cant tell. looks oem to me.

if you guys want more photos or guide to doing this mod tell me and ill try to do my best to explain.

Here is a similar light strip in blue see how it glows through the side and not straight out.

This mod would look great if you have your map, dome, and door lights all converted to the direct fit led package as the same color as your led strips that you use.

If you are going to install an ugly aftermarket switch then you might want to install it straight.

Don't let them get you down. Could you provide some shots from the outside and at night?

Haha I won't. Everyone has there opinions. But yeah I'll get some more pictures for you. It will have to be like next week though cause I brought a different car to college with me for the week.

The swith is straight, the angle of the photo makes it look slanted. But if you were talking about centering it I could only center it vertically and not horizontally because on the back of that cover that I drilled into there's like plastic prongs and support beams limiting the clearance that I need for the switch and wires. Brahh!

move those lights to the footwell.

Yeah i would much rather have a light strip that is like just one long light no gaps or anything, but i was just making use of what i have, and once again i just use these lights to see at night when i need to count change or find something in the car, there not on all the time or when the car unlocks or the door opens. So for my purpose they work fine.
