Broken Compass with Aftermarket Sub and speakers

For anyone who has installed an aftermarket sub and shelf speakers, does you compass still work?

Mine continued to blink and I bought it into the dealer and they could not reset it. They told me that the speakers had all created a magnetic field that impeded the compass from working.

I downgraded speakers which solved the issue but a month later, the compass just stopped working again. They dealer won't replace it for me anymore for obvious reasons. I'm just curious to know if this has happend to anybody else's TSX.

Do you know where the actual physical compass is located?

It is mounted below the rear shelf. You can access it through the trunk. It is between where the stock sub is and the passenger rear shelf speaker is. I have completely unplugged it since it would not stop blinking even after I tried calibrating it. I drove around in circles and after the 4th I realized it wasn't worth my efforts anymore.

I would say it stopped working after 9 months of when I initially installed the system.

Hmm, if it's something that you can unplug, perhaps it's possible to extend it and move it to an alternate location.

Wow I didn't think of that. Thanks for the excellent idea. I will try it and advise.
