Base system upgrade with balanced converter?

I have a 2010 TSX with the base "premium" audio system. I am soon to install a system with maybe three amps, one maybe two 10s, all of it kinda folded into the truck semi stealth.

I understand (thanks Mercman) that the base system has unpowered balanced signal coming from the HU to the amp. Also, that the amp doesn't have the controller of the 5.1. So bass, treble, balance, and fade are all handled in the HU. Correct?

So If I understand this right, I can use a balanced line converter in the trunk for each channel. I would then feed that output to the crossover.

I was about to start with the AudioControl LC8 downstream of the stock amp. But if this works, I'll wait and get the converter.

Maybe I should state that the LC8 is like the cleansweep. So it would have to go after the stock amp.

If I understand correctly, the head unit outputs a balanced signal, so a balanced line converter is what I need... right?
