Auto Start Music Player on Bluetooth Connect
Auto Start Music Player on Bluetooth Connect
When I turn on Bluetooth in my TSX Sportwagon, and connect to my Moto E, Spotify starts. At one time Google Play Music started. Some folks on the Android forums are blaming the car. So I'm asking if any one here has this problem and more importantly fixed it. I prefer NOT to download another app to fix this.
? your question is VERY unclear.
please re-phrase your question in a clear and concise way.
the way I interpret your question; spotify opens..one time google opens. blames car.
wtf is your question? lol

try "forgetting" the bluetooth that's associated with the phone to the car....
then try to reconnect by entering the 5 digit bluetooth passcode..
this should reset the connection between the car and phone.
you can also try doing a factory reset on the phone

I don't have Spotify turned on. Even if I have another music app playing, Spotify will turn on. I've reset the bluetooth. I'm getting the feeling this is not an issue with the car, or you all are using Apples.

seems like SAMSUNG did this. LOL
Samsung created a bluetooth profile, so that when ever it connects to anything, it will auto start default music player..
sucks to have an older samsung
you're not giving us all the details to as what you've tried and to what you've done...so, i'm just suggesting random things that might or might not work.
now that I think about it, my nexus does auto play when connected to bluetooth...BUT I want it to.
in the kia, I hit the "Media" button to switch over from Radio to CD to Bluetooth and when it connects it plays music...but I like it! as it pulls from google play and what ever I had playing in the office.

so, we've figured out that its APP specific and not android or manufacture specific
How do I stop my S5 from automatically playing music when I get into my Honda CRV? - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com says otherwise
Sounds like Bluetooth profile can be adjusted to help

those threads are from 2011-2014, there are no more options like that any more... loland this one that is linked is making it sound like a SAMSUNG problem. lol
I've searched the world wide web and looked thru every setting on the I can find. It doesn't happen on the other 3 Bluetooth devices I connect to, just the car. I haven't tried on anyone else s cars. I've had this problem ever since I got a smart phone. I've tried every solution I could find. Today I'm asking on the car forum since a couple of guesses on the android forums were that it was the car causing it. I'll try the app "connect and stop" and see how that goes.
just went downstairs to test.
it seems as if my Kia connects for the phone and contacts first! as it will say connected, but audio/media isnt connected, UNTIL i press the media button in car to switch it over to bluetooth streaming.
i didnt test if unchecking the audio/media checkbox would deactivate the media player. cuz i like it when it auto plays
I checked this out more this last weekend. No definitive answer. Only Spotify and Play Music are reported to have this problem. Both of these apps have more permissions to monitor network connections than any other music app I have. Neither can be moved to the SD card. For these two reasons I believe this feature is by design. Although I have no confirmation from them that this is so. Lastly it's not an issue with the car. Although curiously it does not happen with the other Bluetooth speakers or receiver that I have.
There are 3 ways to stop this action
1. Force Stop. I do this with Play Music because I don't use it. There is no advantage to doing this with a app that I use often.
2. If either program can not make a cell connection, it will not start. Even if it finds Wifi they will still not start.
3. I tried the app Bluetooth Connect Stop Play, but it did not work for me.
So that's it and I'll learn to live with this frustration, until we can get a phone that is free from corporate control or maybe someday I'll get brave and root it.
