8in subwoofer and location of amp?
8in subwoofer and location of amp?
i want to upgrade to a better sub but i wasnt sure where the amp is if indeed there is one? Has anybody upgraded yet? if so can you tell me where the amp is located?
The amp is located on the right side of the trunk.. You can just grab your signal from the sub itself, to save some time. I'm definately debating adding a sub. My stock 6x9's in my old accord put out more bass at times that this sub...
all i see is a little box located in the middle of the sub and 6x9, is that suppose to be the amp?
Not at all... You have to pull the right carpet trim panel to see it. Its mounted on the side facing the quarter panel, so you might have to unbolt it to gain access to the wires, I havent checked. What exactly do you need to do with it? Let me know, I've been doing all this stuff for about 10 years now. And btw, you must have a pretty rare TSX cuz the rear speakers between the sub are 6.5" not 6x9"

I can't imagine it sounding good at all off the stock amp. The stock sub is is a 2 ohm sub and im sure that the Rockford is 4 or higher, so whatever amount of power feeds the stock sub, it would feed half of that to the Rockford. I wish I could do that too.. Im over putting big systems in my cars. I was planning on putting a 10" in there whenever a get around to it. So regardless you'll need another amp for that sub. And a box, if you were planning to just mount it in the stock location. I doubt its a free air sub

I am thinking about building a box and having the port come through the rear shelf where the factory sub comes through. That should keep it clean looking, and I can seal the area in the trunk and still have room for golf bags.
i just put a 10 inch power series JBL sub in my car with a 1200w jbl amp. It is in a sealed box(.75 ft^3) and it hits very clean. I ran a 4 awg wire from the battery to the trunk, got a ground from the trunk. Then i took the remote from the satellite radio which is located behind the seat on the rear passengre side. I took the signal off the factory sub by sodering a terminal on the sub itself. This way i can controll my sub via the subwoofer controll on from the radio. Once you figure out where everything is this is easy. I can send pictures or post with a tutorial showing where everything is.
sounds awesome..yeah if you can post pics with tutorial that would be pretty cool

i dont really like to hear the bass, i rather feel it. I have the crossover turned way down on my aftermarket sub so it really only hits very low freq. The stock sub covers not of everything else. I also instaled a switch on the remote wire so i can turn the amp off when i want. sorry no pics yet, i will try to take them when i get home from work today, if not then def over the weekend. Im soo lazy when i get home from work, all i want to do it eat dinner and relax.
would this fit right in?

that is not a sub woofer, it is a 8inch woofer that is supposed to be used with a componet system which includes a woofer, tweeter and a crossover box. The factory sub will probably hit harder than that. I have a 8inch open air kicker sub that would probaly fit with a small amount of work, but you would still need to put a different amp in for it.
