Window Auto-up

My passenger window no longer does the auto-up with the switch on the passenger door. It will go back down as soon as you let go of the switch, as if the anti-pinch is triggered. The passenger window works normally with the master switch on the driver side door (goes all the way up). Is there a way to re-teach the window anti-pinch? I can't find a way in the owner's manual. Or i it something else...

I've heard something before that you can pull and hold the switch in the roll up position for 3 seconds to reset. Not sure if that's true. There is a way to reset the windows though.

Maybe the track is dirty.

I had a very similar situation when I had to have the door repainted and they took it apart. The auto close would just bounce back down. It would eventually go up to the top after doing it a few times. I took it back to the shop and they looked it up. They had to print out a long list of steps to reset the function. It took about 20 minutes to complete. He gave me the list, but I tossed when I sold the car. Maybe ask a body shop if you can find it online.

That makes me think it's probably a bad switch on the passenger door. Not such an inconvenience, I can live with it. It's almost always too hot or too cold or too noisy to open the windows anyway!

There is a slightly different sequence in the FSM, mostly in the delays they recommend.

Not stated in the link above is to do this from the affected switch, not the main drivers switch.

There is no hold as noted in step #9

Did you get the failure at step #10?

step #12 they recommend holding for several seconds.

They recommend trying several times, and paying attention to the 5 second limit at steps 4-7

The Hall Effect sensor is located in the motor, so it seems odd that the 2 switches should be different, but that is what they say.
