What did you pay for 2012 TSX w Tech?

Hey guys...just out of curiosity..not an out the door price I guess because every state has different taxes, fees, etc...but I want to know what I can expect a reasonable price to be. I've spoken to one dealer so far who gave me a price of $31,560 over the phone (before tax, title, registration), and said they could definitely go lower if I were to come speak to them in person

Thanks!

We just one for 30500 OTD in VA for a friend. Competing dealer was doing a "tax free" on all 2012's this past weekend. So they matched it. 1.9% on the financing.

Yeah, but VA tax is only 3% compared to most states which is 6 or 7. We have to personal property tax on the car every year. We'll see what that will cost me in a few months.

at least here in CT, sales tax is 6.35% and then property tax works like your property tax on your home. You pay different rates depending on your town mill rate (and based on their assessment of what your car is worth)..for my Grand Cherokee right now I have to pay like $400 a year or so..it sucks

I live in SoCal and in late February I sent out e-mails to a half dozen dealerships San Diego, Orange and Los Angeles counties. I ended up purchasing my car @ Hoehn Acura in Carlsbad for $29,600. The price included the destination fee but not the TT&L.

When I went to Hoehn to purchase the car there were no gimmicks, add-ons, hassle, etc.

I paid $28,300 last month for a 2012 TSX Tech at Pohanka Acura in VA. The only think I had to pay on top of this was tax. The price was actually $29,300 and the dealership put in 1K toward my down payment for their loyalty program. We got a 2010 TL Tech a couple years ago. I was completely shocked and pleased with the price and acted a month faster than I was planning to.

Incredibly, I didn't have to do much. I dealt with the internet sales rep, which was my first time dealing exclusively with the online guy. He didn't have the color combo I was initially interested in but said they would sweeten the deal if I chose one that they had in stock. I wanted white with black interior, but ended up getting silver moon with black which is now growing on me. I was upfront and told them that I would be loyal to them if they could give me a good deal but I would go to one of the many other Acura dealers in the area if a better deal was available. We exchanged three or four e-mails and I was in the next day to buy the car.

Interesting Info

When we were finalizing the paperwork on the car I asked the salesman why they were so unusually accommodating pricewise. He said that the number of cars manufactured and sold over the past year was very limited due to supply disruptions that occurred as a result off the tsunami. He said Acura wants to put as many new cars on the road as possible. Hence, the low(er) prices.

Advice - send out e-mails to a variety of dealers in your area with an offer in the $29k to $30k range.

Paid $31,499 + TTL for a 2012 TSX Sport Wagon w/ Tech a month ago at Pohanka Acura in VA. Invoice was $33,779. Negotiated the price with a sales manager via email before setting foot in the dealership to go for a test drive.

You guys have no idea how jealous I am reading this thread. I get the prize for the biggest rip off! I was in a bit of a rush when I purchased, so I didn't haggle too much or even shop around too much either.

In May 2010, I purchased a 2010 V4 TSX Tech. I got wheel locks, cargo tray, floor mats, all season floor mats (I can't believe that regular floor mats aren't included in base...), mud guards, and body side moldings. I dropped a full $31,800 on it for these items before TTL. Taxed at $2862, TL at $82.50, a tire disposal fee (what tires need disposing on the new cars exactly?!) of $8, a Conv./Doc/Notary of $147 (hindsight...wtf is this? I'll take it to a notary who does it for $20!), inspection of $18 (again, my gas station does inspections for $10), and an $8 temp tag. Total cost for me?

$34,926. RIPPED OFF!!!

that is pretty bad, they ripped you off even more though, you got an I4 not a V4
what do we mean no floormats on the base though? the base comes with carpet mats like all cars do

haha...touche! The paperwork lists the carpet mats as an accessory lumped into some package. I also wanted all season mats which was an extra charge (but included in my calculations above...it was some part of a protection package). In hindsight, I REALLY wish I had discovered acurazine before I purchased and even knew about weathertech mats then.

That feeling when you know you got taken...I thought I was getting a great deal too! My problem is that the closest dealer to me is 200 miles north, and the other closest dealer is 230 miles south. I ended up going North and getting a price and then I got pissed at the sales agent because he made me wait 2 hours after I came back from lunch to finalize the bill of sale (he was with a new customer for two hours when he knew I was ready to buy...) and I blew him off after we settled on a price and I told him what horrible customer service they had. I understand that I become my original sales agent's customer as soon as I interact with him, but he should have been willing to make the potential customer wait (or give her up to someone else) instead of making someone who was very close to buying wait 2 hours. Anyways, I went South with their quote and told the guy to match it (my biggest mistake in the whole deal). I should have called the Internet sales or even just done one of those services where they haggle for you (but of course, I hope you can understand my hesitation about paying someone to haggle...doesn't seem right).

Anyways, for future references, if you buy out of state, I assume you don't pay tax at the point of sale? Do you just drive the car home and re-register it in your state where they make you pay tax on the sales price? Looking at the numbers I see here, I could have flown to CA, had a nice vacation, and then driven back my car, still saving a few thousand along the way.

I was just given an offer of $29k for 2012 tsx tech. I've gotten better offers for the other cars I'm considering so I'm not jumping on this yet. However if the dealership wants to go lower than 29k than I would probably go for it. What do you think?

Depends on the state. Most states are now connected electronically so the dealer in the selling state collects tax for your home of registration. Adjoining states almost always do that and I was surprised when the dealer in Colorado said that he could do both the registration and the sales tax for Maryland.

quick question folks. Meeting the internet manager tomorrow. Here are the choices. $30100 for silver non-tech wagon / $32683 GLM tech wagon. Both available at 1.9%/60months but may pay cash. Is this a fair offer? 90% sure we'll end up w/ the tech. Thanks in advance

New 2012 TSX Tech

Thanks to some of the helps on this forum was able to get a 2012 TSX Tech in MD for $30500 including destination with all weather floor mats, trunk tray and wheel locks included. They also matched the CarMax price on my trade.

I paid 30,401 for a 2012 Special Edition with deck lid spoiler (installed) and wheel locks. Priced on the Acura website (without labor) is 32,395. I felt pretty good about it, but you guys seem to have got much better deals lol. This is the first car I ever buy, so I feel I did ok

I think that's an awesome deal. If it were me, I would jump on it. I got my 2011 Base for $28k.

NVM. That deal was BS. Salesperson I was dealing with was a moron.

A more realistic price in NY would be $31k.

Acura of Boston is offering 0% financing with 20% down as part of its Memorial Day sale that ends tomorrow...too good to be true? Most dealers are at 0.9%

see if you guys can help me out with this.

I purchased (financed) a 2010 TSX Tech at the end of 2010. Very happy with the car and owe about 20,500 on the car still (0.9 over 60 months).

I got an email and text from my dealer that they would buy out my 2010 for a 2012 TSX at similar/ same monthly payment with $0 down.

Does this make sense? I fully understand my loan would go back to 60 months. Anyone think of a catch?

I experienced this recently with my 2010 TL. They framed the conversation this way.... We need 2010 TLs b/c our stock is very low. What they really meant was that they needed to sell a new TL. Our dealership has a high quantity model so they can get incentives from Acura. They are more interested in selling A LOT of cars versus having a better profit margin on each individual car. We figured it would actually be to our advantage if:

1. We were willing to extend our payments for 2 more years. We typically drive our cars into the ground, so this was a big consideration. No car payment = nice!

2. Pay a bit more to finance the new car. You have .9 now and will likely be offered 1.9 for the new TSX.

3. We had the brand new car bug, this might be for you. We almost fell into this but had just recently purchased a brand new car. Our TSX had 6 miles on it when we got it!

One final note. We engaged the dealership in this discussion and ultimately they got a little annoying when we said we were not interested. So I might wait to call them back unless you are leaning toward doing it.

Hope this helps.
