We Buy Your Car.com?

Anyone have any experience or thoughts on this car buying service?

Looking to buy the TSX SportWagon but Acura's trade in offer was pretty awful.

Reviews seem to be ok but I've never used a service like this so I have no idea.

thx

car maxx is a similar service.

you should look at your sale/purchase as two transactions IMO.

get the MOST for your current ride/
pay the least for your new ride/

so if that place pays MORE then go for it.

They just offered me $22,000 for a 2012 TSX SE with 1,000 miles on it! YAY!!!

Carmax has always been a joke as well. I've taken 4 cars there and sold each for at least 5k more than they offered.

Webuyanycar popped up in Australia a few months back and when they purchased cars they said that they would send out a check within a week. Months later, people still had no payment, company went into receivership with no obligation to pay for the cars as registration and title was already transferred.

Not sure if they've been around in the US for a longer period but just letting you know - the UK branch has been open for quite a bit I think?

EDIT: Upon further research it seems as if the US branch has been open since 05 so I assume it's all good?

Not always. CARMAX generally gives you a pretty decent idea what the dealer market is in your area. I've sold a couple of cars at CARMAX and used their quotes to get a better trade-in value at a dealer - important if you live in a state where the value of your trade counts towards the tax calculations.

I have read where some people have got a fair trade in from Carmax. Maybe they hate me. With all the car's I've taken there, even the sales dude laughed and said he would buy it for that. I use to work at Carmax back in 2006, but did not work in that department. I took my 2008 S2000 CR w/ AC/Radio with 2k miles on it, not a scratch and they offered me $23k back in 2010.

I've sold one car there and got a good deal. It was a '99 RX300 and the Lexus dealer offered $18k. CARMAX offered $23k. When we went to trade my wife's Civic a few years ago they offered us about $2k than the dealer. I think they used to be good but now offer less than dealers.

Yeah could be. Ah well, still a good tool to use against the dealership!
