I actually tried to do this a year back. I was following a DIY on the 3G TL and 1G TSX guide, but it didn't work out.

Here are two more resources for anyone whos willing to try it:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/navigation-hack-guide-welcome-screen-mod-trip-computer-ok-button-nag-removal-604912/
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=604912

not sure if they will be helpful but there you are.

also heres some quick shoops with acura logos on them so you guys can see how they might look... im not that skilled with photoshop but im sure there are some talented people on AcuraZine who can do much better work : )

they are in the proper size but not the proper format so if anyone wants to use one it has to be made into a bmp and resized i believe

I wonder what the process would be for the new 2011 TSX's with the hard drive. I guess you can take out the drive and connect it to your computer. Do they give you a back up cd to reload it if the drive somehow fails?

Different welcome screen is nice and all, but how about killing the freaking dummy screen so i don't have to accept acura's legal disclaimer every time i start the car. Even if it defaults to the audio menu would be great

I tried this last year. I accidentally copied the older firmware to my new disk so the system asked me if i wanted to revert to an older firmware and I cancelled the copy and didnt bother making a new disk. So if anybody will be doing this make sure you copy the latest firmware.

damn doing it right now and can't find the file on what to transfer over since they are asking to copy over 085JogAus.bin and 085JogAus2.bin. While our nav systems have the 085Jog128M and 085Jog128SZA. Im on the Command Prompt and can't get pass the first step on the "opening base" line.

ok so heres what i gathered, i believe the files we need are simply in 09jog2 based upon the fact that since his australian files were 09jogAUS2 i figured that ours would be 09jogUS2 but since that doesnt exist i think US was the default 09jog2. Dumping this bin shows every single image contained inside and it indeed contains the startup screen for the acura, however this image is actually named "Opening1.bmp" so this is where it differs from the tutorial he posted. I noticed this because the honda accord startup screen is right next to it!

It seems that in the accord version the system reads Opening_base.bmp which is just the edge of the earth and space and then layers the honda emblem on top of it and the navi title on top as well. Our Acura image is all contained in one layer so i believe replacing that to be sufficient, and i checked for layers similar to the honda ones and i couldnt find a navi title layer but i did find one for the chrome acura emblem so if youre gonna do this i would overwrite that with a blank layer

TL;DR:

I went ahead and packaged this all together so if you want to give it a try you can use the file im gonna PM you, i used your MW2 image and sized it to the right proportion and etc so it should be ok... I hope it works!

you should be able to use this file and just follow along with the end of that tutorial by burning it with the other requisite files and getting it to load. Let me know how it goes and if you get any messages or you can see it loading any of the other 09jog files cause i could be wrong about the proper file

This is only for the 09 version DVD, if anyone has a '10 or '11 wagon then just supplant 09jog2 with 10jog2 or 11jog2... im guessing.

This is also where the OK button nag screen is contained...if someone who understood how to do it on the TL or another navi was around they could edit the dll's here or something but removing that screen is a whole nother layer of complexity that requires actual expertise :x

Patch your 08jog2.bin bin with these 2 files. When you are done patching them, use the extract function to dump it to a file so you can verify that they were successfully patched in

Unless you have a CU2 accord (Euro or JDM) i think you will need to overwrite Opening1.bmp and Acura_emblem.bmp

honda_emblem.bin and navtitle.bin are only used for the accord i believe so if you patch those files then you wont see any difference, although you could patch them to be on the safe make sure you overwrite Opening1.bmp at the least

ok im on the burning disc part, I don't have Nero but I'm using ImgBurn. It's asking to burn an ISO of with those 5+1 files...the thing is I select "Create Image file from files/folders" on ImgBurn, and only the two folders that I created "bysin" and "files" show up but nothing in them.

I tried doing "Write Image File to Disc" and only the 08Jog2 and 08Jog appears but not the other files. Im stuck right now

kowloonsniperhk, use "Write files/folders to disc" and select the files that you modded. The instructions are a little unclear, but in this case you do not want an ISO image, just the files in the root of the DVD.

When you use the folders the files are probably selected but inside the folders
when you choose to "write image file to disc" it will filter out non IMG type files (nothing but .bin/.cue/.iso/etc.)

try to burn a new data DVD by just bringing the 6 files together in one folder and then dragging those 6 files over without any folders, as in the disc has nothing on it except those 6 files, no folders or directories, this would be the "root" directory. I believe this should be the case because they are in the root directory of the original navi CD

i am very envious of your location, if i took a pic of what was going on right now in jersey you guys would lol im sure

TSX Navi Startup Mod (taken from OZhonda.com)-omwcy.png

Use the highlighted button to add files only and then navigate to where all 6 files are (put em together in a folder to keep it easy) and then highlight all 6 together and add them then should be good to burn
