Three clutches in four years

Three clutches in four years
This is just about an amusing encounter I had today...
I was coming out of a bank in Berkeley, Calif. and I noticed an elderly Japanese woman about to get into an ILX with paper plates. My 2011 TSX 6MT was parked next to hers.
I casually asked her, "Congratulations on the new car. How do you like the ILX?"
She responded quite sprightly, "Well, I like it so far, but it's not like my previous Acura, which was just like that one," as she pointed to my car.
I said, "That's my TSX. Why did you change to the ILX?" She said, "I like a manual transmission, and loved the car. I think it was a 2010. But I couldn't get used to the way it shifted. After three clutches, they told me at (dealer name deleted) my next car should probably be an automatic."
This lady was at least 75 years old. I just loved the thought of her burning through three clutches in four years...having fun the whole time.
We chatted for a few minutes and I told her that I had to wait four months to find a manual TSX on the West Coast (post earthquake) but it was worth it.
She said she has driven a manual all her life and when she buys each of her grandchildren a new Honda for college, and she insists it be a manual.
Lucky for them...

the one thing I find difficult in Acura's; are the clutches.
very finicky and non-forgiving. meaning you have to be spot on with EVERYTHING. you have to be in tune and take your time with the clutch.
American cars, especially the V8 chevy's and Fords, IE: camaro and mustang and even dodges have easy clutches.
