Sh-awd.

From what I understand it's a 70/30 split torque distribution front to rear. Am I right. The SH part of it all distributes 100% torque to either left or right rear wheel.

Someone please educate me.

I've never seen the underside of an SH type honda vehicle but from what I understand it means that the rear wheels, under hard turning will turn up to 2 degrees out in the opposite direction. I know my RT/TT Stealth had it and you could take some serious turns at some serious speeds in it.

And the AWD part will distribute torque as needed to any wheel as necessary.

IIRC, the SH-AWD system can put up to 50% of the power to the rear wheels for moments at a time(i.e. taking away from a light/stop sign at WOT). The main benefit, like you said, of SH-AWD, is the ability to transfer the power to the rear-outside wheel...similar to what Audi's new rear diff. system can do in order to reduce understeer.

edit: Tannis, what you're talking about sounds like four-wheel steer...which I believe activates itself at high speeds only(50+) to make highway lane changes much easier(i.e. you flick the wheel a quarter of an inch and you get into the next lane much quicker). I'm not sure if this is available on the TL, or any Honda vehicles for that matter.

You know, the mechanic that told me about that only made reference to the Prelude and cited the SH emblem. I figured they continued to carry that across the line. Woohoo! I'm educated today!

I know the old Acura Legend Coupes of the early nineties had 4WS. I'm pretty sure some BMWs/MB have it currently, also.

My old Prelude BB2 from 1992 has 4WS. Love it!!! Never run faster through curves LOL
I´m from Germany and I´m sure no BMW, MB or Audi has 4WS, not the Euro Versions. Audi has Quattro but not steering on the back wheels!
