Unhappy Repair or Replace Rear Bumper?

What a day of bad luck!

So on the free way someone threw something out their window and i ended up driving over unable to dodge it safely. Which was fine because when I got home i was able to buff it out. Then things got worst!

After I went in to the house to wash my hands, my little brother backed up his car and his front end scraped my rear bumper. So now there are scratches on my bumper. Worst he just kept going and never got out of the car to check out the damage or say sorry. But it didnt end there! So feeling upset that my bumper of my 2012 tsx is scratched i decide to go get a snack to get my mind off it. when i finished eating I went to my car and someone had did a hit a run on the other side of my rear bumper. There is a slight dent on my bumper and big scrape on my mud guard!!

So my fellow TSXers! you guys think i should try to fix the bumper or get a new one? maybe even the Euro one?

How hard was your bumper hit? You may see the scratches but if it was hit hard enough it could have damaged the bumper under the bumper cover (the part you are seeing).

It will always be cheaper to repaint than replace unless there is too much physical damage.

The damage is limited to just the bumper itself. What would a good price be to fix the bumper?

Talk about bad luck! Maybe try posting a picture so we can assess how bad the damage is so we can recommend an appropriate course of action?

My dad's Tundra was scraped by my neighbor's daughter as they were driving out of the driveway and dented the drivers side pretty bad. The insurance said it was probably cheaper to replace the bumper than to repaint it and wrote him a $600 check. We ended up hammering out the dent and leaving it as is because it's his work truck, so the appearance doesn't bother him.

I got rear ended a few weeks ago and my rear bumper cover ended up like this:

Size: 22.8 KB

The cost estimate was about $500 to repair. Since I liked the Aero Rear I decided to take the check and buy a new bumper cover.

I got rear ended a while back, and there was only damage to my rear bumper. The guy was professional looking and wanted to pay cash. I said ok. The estimate I got to sand/repaint was $462. The cost of a new oem aero (sports) bumper was $640 shipped. So I used his cash + $178 out of my pocket to upgrade the bumper and couldn't be happier with it. It's way more aggressive.

However since there was a hit and run involved, I would probably get your insurance involved. Unless you can live with the damages and just call it character.

I got my bumper scraped without any dents or anything down to the primer. The other guy's insurance company included the full price of replacing the bumper, then repainting the replaced bumper. However, what i would do, is just get the aero rear bumper. It comes prepainted, AND looks more aggressive.

I paid $534 shipped for the new Aero Rear bumper for cost comparison to my repair.

i went to the body shop to see what they would say...they did the touch up for my bumper for me for free and because some of the clips on the bumper is one they helped me do a temporary fix. Apparently for them to order another OEM bumper it would be more expensive then to just get the Aero rear bumper. The aero bumper comes out to 540 shipped and painted and the OEM was 400 shipped unpainted!

You guys think it would look weird if i left the front splash guards on without the rear? the rear splash guards dont fit the aero bumper.

Thanks for the advice guys! cant wait for the Aero bumper to come in!
