Removing Dealer Tags
Since I bought my TSX off the dealer's lot, it had the dealer tag on the car. This particular tag is in the shape of Texas, and looks pretty bad on the car, so I had to remove it.

Just Hideous

I used the following items to remove the tag:
Goof off, dental floss, hair dryer, plastic rewards card.

First I washed the area with soap and water to remove any dirt from the area

Next, I used the hair dryer to heat up the adhesive holding the tag on. If you have a crappy hair dryer like I do, you will need to hold it very close on high for a long time. I heated it up until the tag would move slightly up and down with a little pressure.
Then, I sprayed a little of the goof off adhesive remover to try and loosen it further. In hindsight, I think I should have used an eyedropper to make sure it only gets behind the tag. Wipe off any excess.

Next I used dental floss in a saw motion to cut through the loosened adhesive. My dental floss kept snapping, until I tripled it and twisted into one strand.

After sawing through, the tag came off with some of the double sided tape behind it. Most of it stayed on the car.

More goof off just turned it into a gummy mess that wouldn't wipe off

So I used my plastic rewards card at a shallow angle to remove the rest of the tape.

After wiping it down with soap and water, looks good, can't see any more adhesive.

Just so you know when you buy any car if you ask the dealer to take off the tag they will do so.

Psst if they do get something free out of them, I'd rather have the people that do this stuff all the time than have myself do it.

I guess I have been lucky. All the dealers I have bought from have never had emblems for me to take off.
Never did buy a car from David McDavid, but they are the ones who did my RSX-S motor swap into my 03 Si. (First one in DFW baby!!)

Oh, didn't know the dealer would have removed their emblem for me. It wasn't a bid deal or difficult to remove, and I think I should be able to find a use for the bottle of goof off. I left the dealer emblem on my previous car, and didn't think it was a big deal, but I think this one was especially unattractive.

you wont get anything free but a free car wash and some low grade polish in the area in which will cause more swirls and marring.. you really think they going to give you something free for a 3inx3in area of scratches??

I've been to 3 different dealerships in my lifetime and none of them put on dealer stickers. Before I entered their dealership I asked if those tags were put on and all 3 (Honda and Acura) said only a plate frame because we don't want to junk up your new vehicle.
As to the OP, that's an ugly emblem. It doesn't even look like an emblem from a car dealership!
