to be ultra-safe you could disconnect the battery. Otherwise, just make sure all your lights are off and the car is off while you're replacing the bulbs. Replace bulbs one at a time and check to ensure that they work, but ultimately always replace bulbs in pairs.

Engine off is the farthest I went in terms of "safety" when I changed my interior to LED and my reverse/turns

I changed all my interior with the lights and engine off. For my reverse ones, I changed the first one with the engine off but after I turned it on to test it to make sure it was working, I just left the engine on and switched it out. Nothing went wrong with my install so I guess I did okay.

You should have not problems, just have the lights off when changing!
