Oil catch can for 2nd Gen TSX

Hi all,

I will be picking up my new CU2 in a weeks time and looking forward to it!!

I'll put photos and details up as soon as I pick it up. I used to have an Audi, which I installed a oil catch can in, and wanted to find out if it would be worthwhile for the K24 in the CU2?

Also would it be

Catch cans are used to collect blow by oil caused by too much positive crank case pressure, usually installed on a turbo car as a remedy when tuned for alot more power than before. Why do you need one?

coming from the mopar world and being able to use a handheld to TUNE my Jeep......

I worked with a tuner where I sent him logs and he tweaked my tune. He is FAMOUS in the modern mopar world. His first email to me said 2 things.

GET A CATCH CAN
BUY GOOD GAS

the purpose of the catch can is to collect blowby from the PCV system so the oil doesn't enter the intake mani and rob you of Power.

DO WE NEED ONE.......IDK.

But in my Hemi it kept the intake manifold squeaky clean.

I can say with out a dought that a catch can on my previous engines LQ9 and LS2 was a saviour for my intake. The catch can acts as a oil filter. The gasses coming from the pcv valve pass through the catch can. There the oil vapor is seperated form the the air and deposits in the can. All that goes back into your intake is clean air. Little to no oil residue build up on the intake which lead to loss of performance and MPG. I have compared my none catch can intake to the same catch caned intake and it is night and day. You would not believe the amount of oil vapor that passes through your intake in 3-5k miles.

I had it on my previous cars. Haven't done this one, as I plan on swapping the intake manifold in the near future...

I know its in the PCV system but is there a certain place it should be?

while our intake manifolds run fairly clean, the PCV and EGR valve do its job!
which makes the intake manifold dirty.

catch can and block off EGR to gain a few horsies and keep things clean!

So it seems it would be a worthwhile investment. But I have no idea what size to get (see OP) and how to install.

I am not sure where to go to get this info

try googling 4 cylinder honda + oil catch can.

over on the TL side, we've done several catch cans and write ups. not sure if your i4 would be similar to our v6 in terms of PCV
