Interesting to see side-by-side. I'm not happy with the direction Acura has taken. I hope Acura smooths things out in a few years. The 2010 RL concept looks promising, although so did the Sports4.

The current TSX still looks pretty good when it's realy dirty, atleast the carbon gray does, but I'm concerned the new TSX won't look so good when it loses luster. The test car above seems to give a hint what a realy dirty TSX might look like.

Yeah, look at all that tape on it. They really need to go to a car wash to get some of that off.

Didn't the new TSX get styling cues from the sports4 though? Like the fender flares and grill, but everyone seems to hate it, me included. The rear also got the non-flat back styling which makes the new TSX's rear very attractive. The sports4 concept also had the knob/non-touch screen navi.

I had pics of the 2G TSX alongside it. They were there when I posted but whatever. I think they didn't go far enough in the design. The TL has far more styling cues from the sports4. This 2G TSX seems to borrow more cues from it's competitors but the cumbersome amalgamation just doesn't flow with lines of the 1G. It's not sleek anymore. That's one of the reasons I love my 1G.

The "note" feature is pretty cool, I hate trying to remember songs I hear on the radio. Always end up forgetting to d/l them.

Yes it was.

I have a "bookmark" feature on my Pioneer Inno (same innards as the Samsung Helix), as well as the ability to record the WHOLE song if I like it. Yes, it is nice to be able to bookmark a song, but I think the proof will be in how it's implemented. Can you, with a single button, "bookmark" a song while you're driving along and listening? If you have to navigate menus, I'd say it's a flub.

Hrm. I just watched Consumer Reports' "first look" by David Champion. Though generally enthusiastic (including "bigger trunk," "improved rear leg room," "'pig's nose' navi control," etc, he showed something I don't think ANYONE else did....

The remote rear seat releases in the trunk are no longer coat-hanger like wires, but nice, black plastic with suitale label handles. Nice looking.

And don't forget the trunk cutoff switch isn't at the BACK of the glovebox, it's in front. And the glovebox has a "shelf" to hold your manuals. Wow, they really improved the amenities and fit & finish of this car.

Open your manual and close your eyes.
Turn to 141 for a big Surprise.

I was inaccurate, they're loops. Yellow on my car.

I think the "V" grill looks okay on ASM, but on other colors it just looks like they forgot to paint it. LIke they just took one part and put it on all TSX colors.

The whole front seems to be variations on an inverted "V" motive, then the lower bumper intake says, "SQUARE," in big bold letters.

You forgot to correct the side mirror signal lights (which, like someone else here pointed out, were arguably nicer on the 2004-2008 model).

I've talked about this on another thread on here somewhere. When the 07 MDX first came out, one of the very first customers that bought theirs from me hated the grill as well. His was black and he painted the 2 grill pieces black to match the car. Looks amazing. I have zero photoshop skills. Maybe someone could play around with that here on different color 09 TSX's?

That photochopped grill is a huge improvement. Mugen and whoever has an aftermarket grille are gonna sell a ton of them

The grill looks OK against silver anyway because it mitigates the excessive chrome. Against any other color it looks gaudy. I think an easy fix might be to just paint the grill either black or the color of the car.

What's with all of the switchblanks?

Well, one thing Acura carried over was the two curious switchblanks on the left of the dash. Unless you are adding your own mod, they are pretty much useless. On the Euro Accord models, I think they are used for options like foglights. But what exactly does Acura expect us to do with them?

And now there is another one. On the 09 passenger front door, there is a switchblank where the trunk release is on the driver's door. If this is a cost-saving technique so Acura can use the door mold from a RH drive model, well it just looks cheap, and unbefitting of a $30k+ car....

I looked at mine (2006) this morning ... a nice "Acura shape" opening (5-sided) for the bumper/front piece, with a single chrome inset grill in there, following the lines. (See the RonJon banner ad.) Nice. (Not sure I like the 2004, 2005 design where the top is actually on the hood.)

This new design. the whole surround is chrome, and ... though I see lots of grills like that on the road this week, they're not on cars I like.

I've also just noticed in a profile pic from the press kit (not to mention reader pics from NY), the Acura grill juts out a wee bit, and doesn't quite follow the line from the hood as it descends down to the bumper. ... Making it look more like an afterthought add-on than anything.

It also looks a little like a silly face, laughing.
