New wheel ideas for a 2011 CBP/Ebony TSX

Hey guys,

While my car is at the dealer i'm spending some time researching wheels and would like some opinions. I know the process is fairly personal but I respect others opinions as well.

I'm thinking something in a 19" or 20" offset, keeping with the "euro designs".

Thanks all.
Matt

I, too, would go with 19s. I have Enkei GTC01 wheels, would love to see them on a CBP.

Thanks 010tsxcbp, it does look awesome. I wasn't planning on dropping my car, but I want it to look good too. Anyone know someone in the area that could handle these mods and/or a few others?

So i've done a bit more research on the topic(s) of offsets/drops and am officially confused, not ashamed to admit it either. I want the job to look right and not be dumb.

Any help/links/guides you guys have would rock.

Also @MrOtocinclus - Where did you buy your rims? Local or shipped?

Thanks all.
Matt

Matt, I bought the wheels and tires at tirerack.com, along with my Eibach pro kit springs. Shipped to a local mechanic who installed everything. From what I hear the site has higher prices than some other places, but it was a good buying experience for me. It offers a lot of educational articles as well.

^MrOto does have a beautiful looking car. I would not go any wider than 9.0" wide for the rims, for 245/35/19 tires, all you need is 8" width to a maximum of 9.5".

This is from a tire store website:

The offset of a wheel is the distance from the mounting surface of the wheel to the true centerline of the rim. A positive offset means the mounting surface of the wheel is positioned in front of the true centerline of the rim / tire assembly. This in effect brings the tire in to the fender well more. Conversely, a negative offset means the mounting surface of the wheel is behind the true centerline of the rim / tire assembly. This will cause the tire to stick out away from the vehicle.

Our stock 17" rim has an offset of ET55 and width of 7.5". All other things being equal, if you have another wheel with offset of ET45, then the wheel will extend 10mm more outward -towards fender of the vehicle giving it a flush look, the width of the rim will affect the calculation, use this to do a proper calculation: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
