New Wagon owner

Pretty excited. Tint is being installed today.

2013 TSX SW. White / beige. Tech package. 15k CPO.

Looks brand new all around. Have a baby boy now so I sold the bike and the 1984 Volvo will sit.

Thanks.. Still working out what I am going to do about the beak. Probably just get some vinyl and cover up the large chrome piece.

Car came with the optional mud/dirt/sand flap/guards. Also has a Curt hitch.

Mom has our 2012 VW Golf TDI. Curt hitch as well. Towed the bike down to Florida on a trailer to stay. Avg 30mpgs with bike. Avg 35 with empty trailer. 42-45 normal for interstate.

Big difference in power/torque from the TDI to the TSX. Next seasons tax return or deployment money will go towards a CT.

Nice car. I love the white. Wish it came with black interior.

Nice to see so many new wagon owners here suddenly

30% but looks darker to me and mandatory film sticker reads 27%. LLUMAR ceramic from a local audio shop.

Had them install Air 80 on the windshield and sun roof.

Temps are below freezing around here. I'm sure the cure time will be a lot longer.

Looks very dark. Usually with such a light interior, tint looks less dark than it is.

I had a friend with the VOlvo like yours. It was a 240DL. He did a 5.0 Stang LX swap back in the day.

I had/have plans for a 4BT swap once the motor stops. I know the rust free chassis will last. I'd do the LS1 swap but I'm a coal burner at heart.

I know nothing of Volvos. Except that I really wanted a Canary Yellow T5-R wagon, with the black wheels when they were new. Didn't have any money back in the day.

Can you take a pic of your rear cargo area, with the cargo cover pulled on and one pulled off? I am curious to see the tan back there

I've got the same one (though mine is a 2012), need to get the hitch still

Richngray - do you actually tow or just use it for bikes etc?

Mine is a 2012 too, I only use the hitch for my Yakima HoldUp and a storage tray when we camp.

congrats on your wagon, I also have one in white and love it. If I had any complaint, I guess I wish the interior was black since I'm a mechanic and get dirty from time to time.

Thank you so much for the pictures. So the tan interior is only half way, and rear is all black? That is a bummer.

My lexus had hte tan interior like yours. I went with current ugly color outside on my tsx wagon, so I could get the black interior

Nice GTI

NP! any thing else, anyone else. I have a cargo rack for the golf that I'll throw on the SW for giggles.

here's the TDI.. it's got a 3300LBS towing capacity... TDI>TSX

New Wagon owner-aok9tmg.jpg

That is the "TSX" on the trailer. It's for sale down in Jacksonville Florida through the BMW Dealer.

I prefer Orange, Yellow, Red. I don't like dark grey drab cars that everyone else drives, and gets lost in the parking lot

Where do you guys get the roof cross bars, that match the OEM side bar colors?

Right!? Rated in the US at 2000 with the curt. If I pick up a westfalia hitch it's an EU approved 3300lb caravan hauler.

VWoNA doesn't want DSG(automatic) hauling anything. Just have to put it in sport mode so it doesn't slip the clutch until you are at cruising speeds and you can pop it back into drive.

If you haven't driven a DSG, it's almost like a manual. Well it is a manual with a clutch and shift lever controlled by a computer.

what detail.. let me know. The exhaust looks like it would come out directly at the hitch haul. Same thing happens with the TDI. had to get tips. melted a tarp.

THat is a curt hitch right? So after you install that, where did you buy the tray?

I was going to ask about how hot it gets, but I think you answered that with the melting tarp

I am deciding between getting a roof cargo box vs the hitch thing you have.

Appreciate the help

If you need that much extra room, just buy a normal tsx with hitch + buy a trailer doc.

Curt hitch, PO installed. I'll have to check the bolts before I decide to tow. You can find the hitch cargo rack for $50 at wally world.

If money is not a problem, go with the cargo box on top. Even a rack up top would be good. If you've seen a dirty hatch. Everything on that hitch haul is going to get nasty.

At the time I bought mine... I was pricing rails, supports, box for the golf. $$$$$$$. hitch.. and rack was cheaper.

Tarp will melt... get a top box.

Thanks for the info guys. Much appreciated.

Top box it is.

Only thing now is get the matching crossbars to the rest of the roof rack. Then I can order a low and wide top box.
