Hey Azine, Just got myself a new 2012 CBP TSX special edition. Will post pics as soon as I upload them. I used to have an 03 CL-Type S and now im back to Acuras, I couldnt stay away! Any suggestions for first mods??? its got everything i dont know what else i can do to the exterior I think I want to tint the portion of the taillights that are "pink"..on my CL-S I had the clear top tinted but that was a long time ago and I dont remember where I even got the tint. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys! Will post pics asap!

Congratulations on your purchase.

You are right about the exterior, the SE already has the GT aero kit, so no need to do anything else. LED lights, window tint, and a drop (either w/springs or coilover) would be my recommendation.

search button is your friend, we have an extensive photographs gallery. many people with the pink either found the 09/10 tails at a junker and grabbed those, others have done the BMW thing and put a red vinyl over it to blend with the rest of the light. we also have plenty of CU2'ers in the CA area, maybe someone can help ya if you need. look around and welcome, enjoy your SE. (don't trust ed, he's 48 and pretends to be a 16 year old girl.... its really creepy. his moms hot though, hitting it is a 2nd gen tsx rite of passage)

just a suggestion: if you have a loan for this car-pay it off first then mod away.

welcome man =D agree with 09tsxtech. i'd go for those as first mods and suggest coils over springs if you have the mulah. i'd do rims last and make the most of your two tone wheels and ofcourse tires! good luck with the build!

thanks guys.. definitely loving it so far and the stock SE wheels, going to keep those for a while i think they look really good on the CBP. definitely have to smoke the pink in the tail lights first and foremost IMO. what do you think??

Very nice car! One question that no one asked: 6MT or 5AT?

Curious as to why you didn't opt for tech.
Is that third pic in an abandoned warehouse?

Probably because you can't get the manual tranny with a Tech, and many people seem to be able to live without the Tech's features, but don't want to live without the manual tranny...this really is a make or break option for many folks, and I can easily see why. Also, the SE trim really stands out from the pack, so I would even consider giving up the Tech for all that the SE has (and again most importantly, for the manual tranny) if I were TSX shopping right now (and I currently own a Tech too).

This trend now has me contemplating many things:
  • Would Acura sell even more SEs if it had the Tech option? When you search for used manual TSXs, an overwhelming majority seem to have the Base trim, so I do *kind of* see why Acura decided not to include the Tech this time around.
  • Will Acura consider putting the Tech in the SE now that the sales may seem to be "worth it"?
  • Or will the SE trim even be continuing? Going off of Honda's past moves, the SE trim is usually a here and gone type of thing and occurs just before another big move is made.

hey guys, unfortunately it is a 5AT, I wanted the 6MT but settled for the 5AT because of all of the hills and traffic in san francisco. plus the dealership was having a hard time finding a 6MT here in the timeframe i needed it. lol the third picture i took during work when i was in our warehouse. not abandoned haha but looks like it. any other members around the bay area? any meets coming up? is comptech still around?? i used to get my CL- type s parts from them but i havent lately seen anything on them. decided to go with the SE over the tech mainly because of the exterior and interior trims. I could do without many of the tech features and it would be harder to get all of the SE options on a tech such as the body kit and black and red interior. also if the SE came in a V6 i would have definitely opted for that. future hopes!

congrats buddy, enjoy it.

i dunno the actual sales figures, but i think we may have some bias here. i feel as those who opt for the SE over regular, especially because of the 6MT and body kit, are only those more likely to mod and therefore to join a forum like this. the regular TSX may be drastically outselling the SE, but we see more SE's here, because they are inherently more likely to be here.

Considering the price, i dont see who wouldnt opt for the SE over the base TSX. unless they need vortex blue.

you know thats the one thing holding me back from completely wanting an SE as my next TSX? i fucking LOVE my Vortex Blue, and may be willing to sacrifice body kit and manual just to have another VBP lmfao

Fixed it for you.

You are absolutely correct, I'd bet the average TSX buyer can't tell the difference and they don't want the manual anyway.

Nevermind, Ceb called it. I was thinkin the SE's were selling like hotcakes, but then I thought about how I see them a lot here on the forum, but in the real world it's a different story.

I wonder if the colors are based on different regions, since the dealers order what they think would sell.

I have a CBP SE in a 6Spd that I purchased 3 weeks ago, I had it shipped from outside the state. I live in Houston btw.

edit: My first mod was 30% ceramic tint, too hot in Houston.
