Need help in buying a new TSX tech pkg very soon

Hello guys, I'm in the market to buy a new Acura TSX tech pkg very soon. My local Acura dealer has just quoted me this in the email:

Thank you for inquiring about the 2011 Acura TSX. The 2011 wont be in for a couple of more weeks. I do have some 2010 TSX Techs in stock. Your price including taxes and all fees is $31,700. Please let me know if you have any questions

So should I pull the trigger on this deal? Is this a good price?

Or should I wait for the 2011 model to showed up and see what's the price they gonna offer me?

Please any help will be appreciate it

I would say if you're in the SF Bay Area, that's a good price for a tech, especially including taxes and fees. That's like 28,800 before taxes, which is crazy for a tech.

There are of course other factors to consider. Do you get a choice of colors? Transmission? If it's a specific vehicle, what's on the odo? Etc etc.

Well they do have the palladium silver color in automatic transmission that I want in stock but I got to go see the car in person and see what's the odo is reading at.

yeah I agree with you on that but I don't like the pink taillights on 2011 TSX that's a minus point for me. Moreover, I'm looking to buy a new car within couple of weeks or sooner if I get a good deal on tsx.

Do you guys know when the 2011 TSX are rolling out in the dealerships? According to my experience, first salesperson in dealership told me that it will take couple of weeks to arrive the 2011 tsx and the other Acura dealership salesperson told me that it'll be here after Christmas so basically in the end of December or January

so I don't know who to believe on this one.

if this helps your decision, palladium metallic isn't offered in 2011....they went for a new silver color.

But the deal they gave u is pretty reasonable, i think.

Go to acura website and do a side by side comparison. Hopefully the settings stick for both cars...see below. Also, there are other threads on this

You're going to need to weigh your options and decide what's important to you. HD and a better Navi, rear vents, pink-ish taillights, a different silver color, is that all worth a few extra grand more to you? If not, than just buy now, as that's a pretty good price after tax (although I think you can play w/ the figure just a little bit more; at the very least, get some free items thrown in).

Another major factor is how long you plan to keep the car.

If you lease or plan on selling in 3-4 years, then remember that the 2010 has already depreciated and you'll get 1-2K less when you go to sell. The lease price similarly might be very close even though the sale price is lower on the 2010 due to lower residual value on the 2010.

If you plan on keeping it for 6+ years, then the depreciation doesn't matter so much and I'd say there's no way the new features are worth three grand. I'm guessing on the three grand, not sure what price you'd get on the 2011.

i for example like my 2009 tsx tech package and i love it, 2010 is proabably not much different in upgrade so reading the new 2011 tsx is a big upgrade. i think the question is whats in your budget, cause the sale rep is right, you probably wont get it for that price. it is a hard decision but it really what you want, 2011 upgrades is well worht it, but more $$$ and 2010 is nice, and with price(maybe you can haggle them down the price).

Hey, thanks for replying. I think I don't use the navi that much, don't care about the rear vents also I love to have a HD for the storage of my music but paying like 3 to 4k is a lot for this upgrade. Also what can I get for free items, in other words how should I approach them for freebies?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I plan to keep the car for a long time. I'm going to finance with them and I agree with you like paying 3K is not worth it for the few new features. I'm going to the dealership on Monday to see what colors and combinations are left then the price negotiation begins. I'll keep you guys updated.

Hi, you are right about the 2011 price that's its going to be way high then what I'm getting it for the 2010. Well the upgrades are nice for 2011 but 3K for few new upgrades are not worth it so. Also I'll try my best for the better price then they offer me cause I went to the other dealership and they match the price and with $100 less then the previous one so.

you also have to consider than 2011 TSX has slightly better fuel economy, better noise reduction, newer heat rejecting glass, Rear camera with lines, Rim design is better, newer leather stiching, center console compartment is now climate control, rear chrome strip.

No... wait. The new VGA navi would be the reason. It's soo much nicer. The slhight changes to front/rear and slightly improved mpg are all pluses too.
