Yesterday was the first time I opened up the throttle on the car and let it red line. Holy 7100 RPMs batman!

i'm going to take a conservative approach and wait until 2-3k miles before i push my tsx hard.

I drive 4-6 miles a day, and have only 172 (30 were on at delivery) miles on the car including a 60 mile trip. I would be like 6 months for me to put 3k on the car, so I just couldn't wait.

Isn't your car still in the break in period then? Pretty sure people usually drive conservative within the first 500 miles? Like babying it...not going past 3k rpm etc...but hey it's your car...go for more vtec!

My dad gave me a 2010 SRT8 chally for amonth.
he gave it to me with 500 miles on the clock.
I fucking WOT'ed EVERYWHERE.

the engine is fine. I like to think that I helped break it in.

Right, with break-in periods there are two schools of thought.

1) Follow the book
2) Floor it out of the dealership lot and never look back

I've heard vehement arguments for both points. I'm a #1, myself, but I'm open to #2

Hey, it's the 21st century.

7100 rpms..not that high lol..but i still love it too.

For breaking in, I also think there are 2 different perspectives. Especially if you drive an automatic, i support the idea that you drive it how you would right away, so the the ECU can start learning your driving style right away. Otherwise you might trick it into thinking your a conservative driver. Who knows though what the truth is..every situation is different and every car is different

when my mom first started driving my car, i guess the ecu adapted to her granny style. then when i took over the car, i did what mroto taught to reset the ecu and changed it to my driving style. my placebo effect tells me it fits me better now. LOL

I love the sound & acceleration when taking my '09 up near red line in 2nd and 3rd gear... its one of those let loose, fun moments... don't do it too often, but does let an ol' guy like me feel like a teenager again!

LMAO! I have to admit, this is my first VTEC car, and I feel compelled to say that every time VTEC kicks in, yo.

It'll wear off...

Unfortunately porters at the dealership don't have the same level of TLC for your car. As long as your oil level is good and the engine is at operating temp, WOT here and there is perfectly normal
