I drive 4-6 miles a day, and have only 172 (30 were on at delivery) miles on the car including a 60 mile trip. I would be like 6 months for me to put 3k on the car, so I just couldn't wait.

Right, with break-in periods there are two schools of thought.
1) Follow the book
2) Floor it out of the dealership lot and never look back
I've heard vehement arguments for both points. I'm a #1, myself, but I'm open to #2
Hey, it's the 21st century.

7100 rpms..not that high lol..but i still love it too.
For breaking in, I also think there are 2 different perspectives. Especially if you drive an automatic, i support the idea that you drive it how you would right away, so the the ECU can start learning your driving style right away. Otherwise you might trick it into thinking your a conservative driver. Who knows though what the truth is..every situation is different and every car is different

when my mom first started driving my car, i guess the ecu adapted to her granny style. then when i took over the car, i did what mroto taught to reset the ecu and changed it to my driving style. my placebo effect tells me it fits me better now. LOL

I love the sound & acceleration when taking my '09 up near red line in 2nd and 3rd gear... its one of those let loose, fun moments... don't do it too often, but does let an ol' guy like me feel like a teenager again!

Unfortunately porters at the dealership don't have the same level of TLC for your car. As long as your oil level is good and the engine is at operating temp, WOT here and there is perfectly normal
