Determined to get the E-manage piggy back to work!! Help needed

So parts have been ordered and hopfully in about 2 weeks or so I could start the 3.5L swap with upgraded Dr.Evil Torque converter.

In the mean time I am determined to get the E-manage piggy back ECU to work. Thanks to Ryan he is able to supply me a full wiring diagram for the TL.

Does anyone have any tips or insight regarding this? Anyone tried this before and failed? Any suggestions or comments is welcome!

I know for a fact that a few 7th Gen Turbocharged Accord is using the E-manage to tune their cars so hopfully I could get it to work with our TL.

Hopfully with the 3.5L, supercharger boosting 8psi, and a good tune it should put down some nice numbers.

So does this mean that the new TL-S can use the supercharger? Any other modification needed?

I didn't order a complete engine. I only ordered the MDX crankshaft + rods and CL Type S piston which has a slightly lower compression ratio for safer and more boosting.

I did not get the parts for the new Type S.

for his sake i hope 03-04.

i'm glad you are doing this mod. i'm so happy i went with a 3.5 on my CL and i dont have forced induction. you are going to love it. and im suprised more people havent caught on. i guess their afraid to tear down their motor, but its a fairly simple build.

while you have them off, i would suggest a port/polish on the intake manifolds and big bore throttle body. i would also suggest filling your oem motor mounts w/ polyurethane. and i hope you are getting the full gasket kits and replacing the water pump, belts, belt tensioner, and dont forget new plugs. im not sure what the comptech kit includes, if you are still on OEM plugs, go at least a step colder.

The crank and rods I ordered is from a 03-05 MDX. I wasn't planning to do the mod until my mechanic kept telling me how simple it is to do. I am not expecting a huge HP gain with this mod but more of a higher and better torque curve. Our car really lacks lower end torque. The lower compression CLS piston will also allow me to run more boost.

I am planning to do the polyurethane motor mount mod as well as fitting a tranny cooler when the motor is out. Also going to put on the Dr.Evil upgrade torque converter. I am still deciding if I should send my tranny to Dr.Evil and upgrade the whole thing for $4250. The biggest problem is that they said they have never worked on our tranny before and they are not even sure if they could fit a LSD in it. If without a LSD, i don't think the $4250 is worth it.

I doubt i would have to replace the water pump, belts, belt tensioner as my engine only has 9k KM on it. As for plugs it's all new that came with the comptech kit.

As to port/polish on the intake manifolds and big bore throttle body, I remember someone saying we can't do the throttle body due to the drive by wire system. I guess I will look more into that.

Advance Motorsport is doing the work. Hopfully it will yield some nice low end torque with the 3.5L.

So anyone else got tips for the E-manage?

Have you thought about MOTEC? I think they have an ECU that is compatible with drive by wire. I believe the only problem would be the wiring harness.

M-600 or M-800 are the models that I am talking about. I also read on the site that they can make a custom wiring harness for any car.

Are you still going to have the TL block? If not you should look into a turbo? I believe the MDX blocks have headers... that would be soo sweet 3G TL w/ TURBO MMMMMMMM

The mdx block is the same as the TL block. The difference is in the crankshaft, rod, piston, and the head. I could look into getting a custom turbo in the TL, but I would for sure need to figure out how to tune the car first.
