I'm sure you could...people have been doing that for a long time, put a few washers in, then bolt it back up. All you're doing is creating a purposeful exhaust leak!
hey everybody! it's been a while since I last posted.
I just graduated in December from nursing school with my BSN. I've been MIA for the past year. Miami roads has been horrible towards my car. Some inclines and speed bumps are ridiculous.
Anyways as of right now, I'm just working and studying for my boards. I haven't done anything special to my car. I'm basically trying to get my car to mint condition since I've kind of neglected it the past year. My front bumper is scratched and I'm missing the bottom liner. Car is in need for some detailing.
I've installed the VLEDs Triton V3 switchbacks and I have to admit they were a PITA to install. Not because it wasn't plug and play but I had a lot of issues with regards to the base adapter that they provide for you. The base adapter that VLEDs provide is suppose to plug into your car's turn signal outlet. The problem is that it's kind of loose and in order to get the lights to work, you have to press with force to have the light on.
I've emailed them already regarding this issue but they have not been addressing my issue. I'm kind of upset because apparently its an issue with a lot of people.
As of right now, I used electrical tape to tie down the base adapter into the car's socket. and heat shrink and also taped down all the plugs. The other issue is that there is NOT a lot of room to work with to place the modules in. I basically kind of ghetto rigged my set up by duct taping the modules into the fender.
I've also replaced my tires since I had an incident on the road where my rear passenger tire camber wear was so bad that it was leaking air. My tire pressure went from 38 psi down to 2 psi. I managed to get it to gas station where I can change into a spare. But man was that scary. Tires I got this time were the same.
I've also bought Ingalls rear camber kit since I want to correct this. Haven't installed it yet.
Bought a new OEM-style foglight assembly for my driver's side fog light since I have a lot of crap inside including a blown light bulb lol. Some green goo stuff too. While it's not OEM, it looks OEM lol.
HID fogs that I replaced in the summer no longer works. Ordered the VLEDs XB 6K Cree LED fogs. Still waiting on them.
Finally bought a new DSLR for my graduation!
Anyways, here comes the pictures (*sorry my car is in really bad condition and haven't washed it, too busy with studying for boards)

Wow, looking great, brother!
The signal socket doesn't unplug like in the TL? If so, why not access it from the fender well, then unplug and install and test the bulb off the car and then reattach. PS...did you try prying the 4 wires a bit off the base plug so it'll hold in place when you push into the socket?

Hopefully I can describe this correctly.

VLEDs Tritons in headlight --> wires from the bulb goes to the "power supply" (*not sure what it is called) --> wires from the "power supply" connects to the Circuit Loading System Module (CLS module which fixes the hyperflashing)---> From the CLS module, is another pair of wires which connects to the base adapter (from VLEDs) --> the base adapter is like the base of your oem bulb that connects into the car's socket.
http://www.vleds.com/v3-triton/adapt...57-1-pair.html
The base adapter that they provide is suppose to be like the factory end where it fits in and you turn it and it locks. The problem however, is that the base adapter fits in and locks but it doesn't push in hard enough where it has sufficient pressure on the terminals in the car's socket.

Gotcha, so it's loose, but doesn't effect whether or not it fires etc?! I was picturing it wrong.
Ok, in that case, what I've personally used to remedy an slightly ill fitting bulb is teflon tape. It's thin enough to layer until it's thick enough to sit snugly and it's easy to work with...once you wrap once, it'll hold in place and you can pull it taught.

First off. Car looks BA like always.
On another note Im glad/sad to see I'm not the only one with the glaucoma headlights

Is yours (or anybody else's) as bad as mine? I try my best to keep it clear but nothing works.

And this one really shows it

It is the sun...
and to be honest, it'll keep coming back once the factory clearcoat goes. I try and wetsand and polish every 6 months and then add some headlight sealant I picked up from Walmart every couple of months. No way around it, I guess.

Could you make a DIY?! That would be super helpful to know!
this was the haze that i had over my headlights. Used Turtle Wax headlight restorer and for the price, i was impressed. too bad it's going to come back within a few months
All taped up

I have this exact same VLED setup in my TSX and I haven't had any connection issues at all with the adapter plugging into the 1157 bulb harness. I've had them installed 3 weeks now and not had a signal issue. That's pretty weird. They were certainly a pita to install, I actually had mine done at the dealer.
I got mine at Advance Auto Parts but Autozone will probably have it. Sometimes, I wish my car was stock. I miss the comfy squishy ride. Stupid back.
I used the turtle wax 1. Honestly everything works but doesn't last. I now use megiuer's headlight restoration or mags aluminum polish to clean the headlights because they both work and you don't have to wet sand
I bought some $8 turtle wax combo restoration kit. I'll test it out.
@kowloon. I know what u mean. Squeeky springs over speed bumps every single day of
My life kinda gets to me.... But the turned heads on the road is worth it haha
