Can anyone report if the iPhone 3G can do Phonebook import with '09 TSX (Tech)?

Thanks!

The first iPhone worked fine with the Acura MDX which is almost the same system as the TSX. Acura shows the original iPhone is qualified with the TSX.

See http://www.acura.com/handsfreelink/

A little early for the iPhone 3G, but I'll bet it works the same.

Yep, I've got one! As I was importing the phonebook, it gave me some sort of error, but the phonebook actually imported just fine! I don't know what the error was, everything seems to be there. Could be a one time goof, I only tried once.

The hfl site shows iphone as incompatible with the phonebook import feature (http://www.handsfreelink.com/findaph...=105&year=2009). But as maks327 points out, it appears to work nevertheless, which is great news.

I have talked to a couple different techs at handsfreelink and they say the first generation iphone had intermittent problems importing phonebooks, so they failed it. All that means it may take more than one try.

I imported my phonebook from my iPhone into my 2G, got the same error but all contacts seem to have made it over just fine. Wish that the HFL could link to the entries in the imported phonebook, but oh well . . ..

I imported phonebooks from two seperate iphone 3g's into the same car and I got no error messages and they all showed up fine. Now I am just going through an adding them so I can voice dial using the HFL.

just got my iphone 3g yesterday and got the phonebook import to work too. question: can i voice dial the numbers in the "cellular phone book" in the nav? it seems that i have to use the dial to select the numbers (can't even use voice to navigate thru the list)....

While I cannot say with absolute certainty, I believe that this is because the HFL is made by one manufacturer (johnson controls or motorola?) and the navi is made by Alpine.
