Talking I just ordered up a Wagon!

Hi there! I'm new. I've never had an Acura and am so excited! I just pre-ordered a 2011 TSX Sport Wagon with Tech in Graphite Luster Metallic and Ebony interior. I was shocked to get a great lease deal, too (I think). I figured with the shortage of them, they wouldn't agree to any negotiations, but my dealer did! It is due to come in 4-6 weeks and I can't wait! I appreciate everyone's posts here, as they helped me make my decision

CONGRATULATIONS! Welcome to A-Zine btw! 4-6 weeks isn't long @ all! I'm pretty sure you will enjoy your Acura for many years. I'm not sure if you've had a Honda (Acura) in the past, but you could pretty much expect great reliability. Sounds like your dealer was easy as pie to cooperate with you. That's always great!

Is there a shortage of wagons? From what I read, Acura was only planning on selling 4000 a year in the US, so I didn't think there could be a shortage given that target.

Did you test any of the Acura SUV's? I'm currently debating between a TSX wagon and the MDX.

Excellent choice. Identical car, trim level and color

The wagons are scarce. Being that Acura only planned to build 4000 in addition to the earthquake in japan and stop in production it is highly likely that way less than 4000 will be produced.

We test drove a rdx before the tsx, and there is a power and ride difference, but cargo size is similar. I drove a friends mdx, and again big difference in power and ride. Mdx was a smoother ride, but it felt like a lumbering suv compared to the wagon. Huge difference in gas mileage too.

Friends mdx averages 16mpg, I've heard the rdx get a couple miles more per gallon. My wagon gets 25mpg on the low end, and currently getting about 29 this tanks...

Wagons rule. I have a perfectly good late model 325 sedan in the garage that has cobwebs on the tires now.

Congrats. Dollar for dollar and pound for pound it's a great car and a great value.

I like the MDX, but the extra cash and gas mileage don't make the extra room and AWD worth it for me. My wife really wanted the MDX until she drove the TSX wagon and looked at me with a big smile and said "I LIKE IT!"

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for welcoming me! To answer some of the questions...
I am in SoCal, and there are no wagons for miles around right now. My dealership is getting 4 in the next month, and 2 are already spoken for. They aren't even hanging around long enough for people to test drive them. The last one they had in, I could only look at, but not drive, as it was sold even before it arrived. I test drove one 2 months ago at another dealership.
I got a 36 month lease with no money down for $460/mo. From what I was seeing on TrueCar.com, I was shocked. And sooo happy! Maybe everyone is getting that deal, but I don't care because I was psyched

I did a ton of research before choosing this car. I really love wagons (I currently have an Audi A3) and was sort of open to a crossover or SUV. But after driving a few, there was no question I love the feel of a car. I had a little concern with the power on the wagon, as that is the main complaint on threads and reviews, but in the end, I realized that I drive mostly in the city, and it was plenty powerful for me right now. It has the same amount of space as the RDX, but I think it is sexier and more stunning in looks than the RDX, which can look to me a little boring. The MDX is beautiful, but too much $ for me, with much worse gas mileage, and too SUV-ish.
I am just a wagon person, so it was really a no-brainer for me in the end! They do rule!

Hey there RubyJR~

Welcome and congrats! Graphite Luster Metallic is definitely sexy, isn't it?

Before i bought my TSX, my friend (a 1G TSX owner) was trying to have me get the Wagon. Now, i can see why. But nonetheless, i'm quite pleased with my sedan ^^

And...

I AVERAGED 34 mpg on my last 300 mile trip (includes mountain passes) and my average speed was 70 mph. A/C was on and I had a bunch of luggage in the back so I was hardly hypermiling it.

We have had a black wagon since May and it is truly a great car. Our friends leased one as well and they rave about it as well. There are not many on the road yet, but with mostly very positive reviews out there, as soon as Acura can get production back to normal, this should solve the availability issues.

Try to be patient-six weeks goes by very quickly (well except if waiting for a car !!!!). You will love it I am sure as soon as you take delivery. Enjoy !!!!

Guess what? My car came in!!! I was so shocked! My sales person called me a few days ago and said it was in. I went in that night and it had just come off the boat - had the packing tape on and all. There were other salesmen drooling over it and chomping at the bit to call their clients who are on the waiting list to test drive it. They said there were going to be fist fights over it. i drove it off the lot with 1.5 miles on it!! Wow!! It is gorgeous and I have been loving every minute of it. Will post pics tomorrow

I am so happy and proud to be an Acura driver!

Congrats! What color?

I read all those internet grumblings about how this wagon is not powerful enough. I live and work in the suburbs and mostly drive from red light to red light at rush hour, so my average speed is 20 mph according to my TSX computer. Looking forward to some highway vacation driving soon.

i have still yet to see any Wagons in LA. Seeing more 2G TSX sedans these days but the Wagon is still rarer than an ontime balanced budget from Sacramento

i shall keep my eyes open for you! hehe
