How much is it to replace the brakes/rotors?

I'm just curious. When I went to Acura of Serramonte, the mechanic told me my REAR brakes were at 60% life. When I went to my local mechanic, he said it's at 80% life. I'm not really sure who to believe.

In any case, how much would it cost me to replace my 2010 Acura TSX brakes?

I have a 1G, but when I last went for service they did a courtesy inspection. They told me my brakes would need replacing soon. So based on that I purchased pads (and rotors but didn't need to) and replaced them myself. When I got the front pads off there was more than half the pad material left. I probably had 20K miles left on those pads. Actually the rears were much less but still had many thousands of miles left. So I'd believe my local mechanic over the dealer. You can check the pads yourself using one of those dental mirrors, or take the front wheel off and look directly through the back of the caliper.

Centric premium rotors $32.22/ea

Bendix ceramic pads 38.99/set

Ebay

If you're at all interested, they're pretty easy to do yourself. PM if I can help, look at my photos, I have a whole bunch more pics from when I did mine.

^^^ no disrespect bro....i wudnt recommend to buy brakes (rotors and pads)/wheels/tires from ebay....yes it could be legit....it could be the best brakes ever....but anything which can put me into the side wall while driving on the highway will not come from ebay....

yeah lights/spoilers/emblems/etc yes....but not these.....

try rockauto....they have some very cheap options and expensive options.....

I wasn't advocating "Uncle Nutty's Blasto Marauder" rotors & pads. = )

To each their own, if it's name brand product, what's the difference between RockAuto, Amazon or eBay? Centric premium rotors are excellent for the price and Bendix is a very respected name in friction, possibly the best for OE or OE replacement.

Anyone have a DIY or how to on doing the brake replacement? I've done brakes before but if someone has a how to I'm all about some guidance. I like to save money instead of giving it to a mechanic. Let me know or if theres already a thread point me to it...thanks!
